It's been a couple of days since I posted anything, I've been catching
up at home. I find it hard to concentrate on craft stuff when the house needs a tidy or there's a pile of ironing to do!!! I can't work in a muddle I guess, it's a curse!!!
So what's new, I picked up my Cuttlebug on Thursday, its such a cute little green thing. It looks funny sitting next to the Pazzles, it's so tiny. I haven't been able to use it until today as I hadn't any dies or embossing folders. I had an amount of money to spend (thanks Walshie, you're the best) I was trying to get as much as possible of my wish list. I haven't done too bad either, I have ordered two of the 4 sets of Spellbinder Dies ovals and circles. I've also ordered 3 embossing folders all from the same on line store (Paperbark Creations for any of you Aussie readers) they have the best prices around and a great list of goodies to choose from. I've ordered some new stamps from Gina K along with her paper which I believe is excellent. Today I picked up the Swiss Dots embossing folder to have a play with tomorrow. Not bad ah, spend, spend, spend. I'll have so much fun when it all arrives, which is why I've been busy getting the house in order!!
OK now a couple of boys cards to show today. The first one I call 'Being A Boy', I've actually posted this one over at Stamp TV so you might have seen it. The story behind it is that I was looking through a site with sayings, quotes and card sentiment ideas and found this saying that I really liked (I have 5 brothers and thought this was pretty accurate), what do you think?
The stamp I used on this card is an Australian Stamp from Stamp World by Annie White.
The second card 'Happy Birthday Dude'!
uses a Kaiserstamp which is one of the first stamps I bought. I've clear embossed it on SU card stock then punched it with the SU spiral punch. I used four other papers to 'dress' the front of this card. I don't have a scalloped punch but I do have a corner punch which I take the guard off to create the scalloped edge. A couple of yellow brads complete the card with a computer generated sentiment.
I'm starting to think that perhaps I should make a few 5" square cards for a change, they might open more layout options. I'd love to know what other stampers and cardmakers feel about this - if you get a moment let me know your thoughts.
I'm off now to have a go at the sketch challenge Kurtis has set over at Stamp TV ... I really like his CAS style.
Sorry I've rambled a bit this post, that must be what happens when you miss a couple of days! Check out the Blog Candy I posted today on offer at Cathy's blog.
Have a great week end.
These are great boy cards!! You are going to love your Bug when you get your new dies and embossing folders ---- they are sooooo much fun!!! Swiss Dots is my all time fav! As for 5" cards - they offer different layouts, but remember you need to have that sized envelope and they cost more to post! If you need ideas for layouts, check out Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge thread (link on the home page). :)
