Lillies Three.....

At last a chance to sit and post a card!!!! I've had a busy week end and spent Sunday afternoon cleaning and re-organising my crafting work space. I'm so lucky to have a big area but I can't work in a muddle and I had so much stuff all over the place. It's looking quite tidy after my efforts I'm hoping it will inspire me to get on with some work!!!

Today's card is for the sketch challenge over at Stamp TV. It's Jessica's sketch and she used one of her cards from the latest Gina K release for August. I loved this sketch so was glad to have the chance to make a card with it.

For my card I kept it really simple matting the three images to apple green. I've layered the satin ribbon onto the specialty paper and added the antique gold swirl. The top image was popped up and sits just over the middle one.

That's it how simple was that - I think I might add this card to my Christmas card box!! just add a sentiment, probably to the swirl.

• Paper: GKD PL Heavyweight pure white, PL layering Weight pure white, GKD Apple Green, DP Basic Grey Wassail, specialty paper - open weave.
• Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers.

Today's card is for the sketch challenge over at Stamps and Smiles. I've used Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic again as the base of my card. I love the way you can play with this mosaic it's so original.

• Stamps: GKD Inspiration Mosaic and GKD Signs of Autumn.
• Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers.
• Card: GKD PL Heavyweight in PW plus PL Layering Weight in PW. DP is Basic Grey Romani Caravan and DCWV Nannas Nursery.
• Embellishments: 3 clear dew drops and 4 buttons.

Both the mosaic grid and the sentiment from the same set were stamped onto Basic Grey Caravan card. I added the green polka dot over two of the shaped blocks.

The sunflower image was stamped onto GKD PL layering weight PW card and coloured with Copics. This was then matted onto a small piece of card and attached to the front of the mosaic with foam tape to pop it up.

I tied some string through the buttons and attached them to the four corners with glue dots.

The 3 dew drops were positioned in another of the shaped blocks to finish off.

The mosaic was then attached to the card base with more foam tape.

I was pleased with this one after spending ages going through my button jar looking for 4 matching buttons. I was glad I did it this way. All the buttons are different I just stuck to orange and green!!

Orange and Grey Mosaic - MMS16

Good Morning,

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge number 16. On first view it looked a very straight forward layout but, there were a few different elements which made it fun.

This card is also going into the STV colour challenge - guess what that is!!!

Stamps: GKD Inspiration Mosaic, the little girl is a no name from Art Stamps Australia as is the pretty little spray.

Ink: Memento, Tuxedo Black, VersaColor, Sky grey with the image coloured with Copics.

Card: Bazzill Grey, GKD PL Layering Weight, DP, Basic Grey Romani Caravan and SU grey flower and polka dot.

Embellishments: Dew Drops, Flower Brads, Silk Flowers and two punched Swirls.

My Base card is Bazzill Grey.

Next layer is the GKD PL which I embossed with Birds and Swirls. The grey polka dot strip across the card was also embossed along with the orange and grey squares with a Swiss dots EF before being added to the background.

The Mosaic was stamped onto the Caravan DP ( I actually cut the size down a little to fit this layout). Two of the segments were covered with the floral grey from SU. Another segment was stamped with the little heart spray. Once the image was stamped and coloured this was added to the mosaic with foam tape followed by the orange corner frame.

The mosaic block is mounted onto more of the Bazzill grey then added to the background with more foam tape. The flower and swirls were positioned in opposite corners and lastly the three dew drops were attached.

Wassail Christmas Mojo

I know it's been a few days since my last post but we're having a few jobs done around the home so it's been all go. I have only just started to play with my new purchases from the Craft Show!!!

OK, so Mojo 101 and I decided to make a Christmas Card with this week's sketch.

Stamp: Art Stamps Australia (sorry no other name).

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and LuminArte Sparkling H2O's.

Card: Green Bazzill, GKD Soft Sand and PL Layering Weight Pure White. SU Riding Hood Red, DP Basic Grey Wassail.

This little stamp was one of seven I picked up at the Art Stamps Australia stall at the show. I thought it would be good for a few quick Christmas Cards. I used another new purchase the sparkling H20's to colour the image before cutting with a Spellbinder's Nestability. A scalloped circle was embossed with the Swiss dots embossing folder and the stamped image matted to this.

The base card is cut from Bazzill card stock, the next layer is Soft Sand. Two pieces of dp were attached to this with the Riding Hood Red cut to shape and added.

The third piece of dp was matted to more Soft Sand and attached to the background with foam tabs. That just left the stamped image, which was also attached using foam tabs to pop it up.

One more Christmas card ready!!!!

It's been a really windy day here is Sydney today. The wind woke me at 4am this morning and at 6am we had to bring in the awning over the balcony, it was so gusty I thought we might have a problem. The garden, after my hard work on Sunday, is covered with branches and leaves but there's no point going out the back until the wind drops. Yuk! days like this an apartment seems like a good idea!!! OK I'll stop moaning...

Sydney Stitches and Craft Show

Hello,

We had the best day at the show yesterday!!! Kerrie and I walked around all three floors - or was it four!!! anyway we walked lots. The ground floor was the best for us with the papercraft stores mostly there. For the first time ever I didn't look at any of the fabric, embroidery etc. just everything to do with papercraft. A couple of the beading stalls caught our attention mainly looking for spacers though.

We both managed to part with a few dollars, buying the things we don't get to see in our local shops. Flowersoft, Sparkling H2O's, Glimmer Mist and a couple of Basic Grey 6 x 6 paper packs (can you believe we don't see these, I bought one from GKD last month!!!).

Anyway, look I took a picture of my stash to show you......... lol.

What do you think - not too bad!!!

I took my little camera with me so here's a couple of pictures - but I only remembered I had the camera towards the end of our day and we both look a bit tired and no lippie left!!!

A very kind man took this picture of the two of us when I said I was going to blog it!!! He said OK get my sign in and I'll take the picture - what a cheek! Actually we liked his stall and left him some of our money!!

So no card to show today but guess what - I'm going to be playing with some of my new stuff!!!

Pumpkin Thanks.....

Hello, Thursday already, where has the week gone!

Just got this card finished in time for the Stamp TV sketch challenge. Cathy is the host this week and a message came through yesterday to say she had to be taken in to Hospital suffering severe pains in her shoulder. The worry seems to be her heart so we're all hoping and praying that this is not the case and that she'll be back home soon. Take care Cathy looking forward to seeing you back on board at STV.

• Stamps: Signs of Autumn (showtime stamp kit) Sentiment is from Melanie's set Inspiration Mosaic also GKD.
• Paper/Card: GKD Soft Sand, PL layering weight in pure white, New Pumpkin (only available in the stamp kit so far), dp - digi paper also GKD.
• Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark, Copic Markers.
• Embellishments: One button.

I started with pure white card followed by a layer of dp.

The next layer is the new Pumpkin that I stamped with the leaf spring from the set. I used VersaMark only then matted this strip to pure white. Using the SU lace punch I made the bottom strip of lace work, you might just see in this photo that I embossed two lines across the lace before attaching the button. This button had a shank on the back so that had to be removed first.

The pumpkins were stamped twice, the first one coloured with Copics and the second one only had the smallest pumpkin coloured. This was then cut away and added to the main image with foam tabs. The sentiment was stamped in black along the bottom before mounting this to a small piece of Soft Sand. I attached the image with more foam tabs before adding the completed design to the soft sand card base.

Hope you like this Autumn card - I know in the Southern Hemisphere we're moving into Spring but as these are American stamps............. We go with the flow!!!!!

Two more challenge cards....

Hi,

just trying to catch up a little so two posts today.

This little card was made for the Colour Challenge over at Stamp TV, which was green, black and white.

I wanted to use the sentiment from Melanie's set Inspiration Mosaic which I like a lot. So my paper choice was quite easy I needed green and wanted stars and luckily had this (no name sorry) paper in my stash. I decided to use Donna's folded layout again as I think it too looks a bit like a star (if you squint and look at the white areas!!!!!). This time after folding I didn't glue the edges down, which actually looks better I think, less formal.

The sentiment was stamped in white chalk ink onto basic black Bazzill and attached to the middle of the folded block.

I've used black Bazzill to matt this folded square to then added the ribbon with the metal slide at the left side. Once this was done the black was attached to my pure white card base.

A very simple card but quite eye catching I think!

The second card was made for a KaiserCraft sketch challenge. Apart from the sketch you have to use 80% KaiserCraft product. Now that's not hard for me, I love their 12 x 12 double sided card stock and one of the latest is The Duchess Collection which I've used a couple of times with stamps. So this card features the collection for the dp as well as the the sentiment block which are all rub ons. Just look at the shadow under the script - I love it and the lace strip too.

The brown is from their Cafe Culture collection. I've used adhesive pearls in chocolate from the Kaiserscrapbook range to finish off.

The cream linen card is from my stash as is the ribbon, a SU punch was used to punch the lace at the bottom and a corner punch from EK Success was used on the sentiment piece.

That's it I'm up to date now just need to get one more card made!!

MMSC 15 - Hocker Docker

Here's my entry for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 15.

This is a great sketch, love those horizontal strips.

I've used one of Christina's, from Sunshine's Stamps Digital images - Hocker Docker Helicopter. I've printed him onto GKD PL layering weight in pure white and coloured with Copic Markers.

The sentiment is computer generated onto velum and attached to the base of the image with two fine strips of ribbon. This was then matted to golden yellow card.

The base card is the same golden yellow with the next layer or pure white card popped up with foam tape.

The three horizontal stripes are cut from two sets of digital paper from Nina's set Elegant for GKD and matted to the same golden yellow card.

I've used gold cord through eyelets top and bottom before attaching this section to pure white card. The image is also attached with foam tape to pop this up.

• Stamps: Hocker Docker Helicopter from Sunshine's Stamps
• Card: GKD PL layering weight in pure white. Golden Yellow craft card. Nina Bracket's Digi paper 'Elegant' for GKD.
• Embellishments: Gold cord, gold eyelets, ribbon.

Hocker Docker Helicopter

Here is one of the latest digi images from Sunshine's Stamps - Hocker Docker the Helicopter.

He's bringing loads of Happy Birthday wishes to a little boy I know.

This image was printed onto Layering weight pure white card and coloured with Copics.

The sentiment was computer generated onto velum which was then attached to the bottom of the image with some very fine ribbon across the top.

The base card is Soft Sand with a layer of dp from Junkitz . The digi image is matted to some bright yellow card.

Blessed... Mosaic

Today's card is my second one with Malanie's set and this time I stamped the mosaic block onto plain black card using silver ink.

I started with the embroidered block. Using a piercing tool I punched out the stems, leaves and flowers before adding the embroidered details. I've used Silver, Red and Green Metallic thread.

I've used a specialty paper in black white and silver as well as the red polka dot this time in five other blocks leaving two just plain black. The sentiment, which is fromGKD Showtime Kit thanks a million, was stamped onto red card which was then matted to black before attaching to the main block with foam tabs to pop it up. For the remaining block I spaced four clear gems for some added sparkle.

This mosaic was then attached to a card of Pure Luxury pure white card.

• Card: PL heavyweight pure white, SU riding hood red, dp - doodlebug design inc - Christina Re.

As I sit typing this post the light is catching the silver in the specialty paper and I have to say it looks really good - not sure I can capture that in the photo, which is a shame. I'm really happy the way this card turned out though and want to try some other designs with this set.

Oriental Mosaic..

Hello, Happy Monday everyone!

I hope your week end was good and you managed to get some crafting time sneaked in there somewhere. We've just had a touch of Spring with pleasant temperatures and lots of sunshine in Sydney. Not quite the 28 they predicted but very nice.

I just want to say thank you to all those who joined in on Nina's Blog Hop and left me comments on my projects. We all like to know what others think good or bad, so I'm grateful when you take the time.

I only managed to make one card over the weekend and I'm working on other today. I've been playing with another of the new sets from Gina K Designs and this one is from Melanie. When I first saw her set I wasn't quite sure how I could use it.... and then the release party showed some of Gina's Senior Designer's cards and that was me, hooked.

So my first card with Inspiration Mosaic by Melanie Muenchinger.

This set is made up of the Mosaic grid and eleven other stamps.

I just stamped the Mosaic block, which is an approx 9cm x 12cm block divided into 10 smaller shapes. I stamped onto the dp and embossed with gold. I covered two of the inner blocks with Japanese Chiyogami paper. The flower, from GKD Tropical Windows, was stamped onto PL layering weight and attached to another of the boxes with foam tape to pop it up.

The sentiment from yet another GKD set - Are we there yet? was also stamped onto PL and attached to the box with double sided tape. I mounted this completed block onto Tangerine Tango then using foam tabs attached it to my card base of Soft Sand.

Quite a simple card, I like to think of the flower as bamboo (to go along with the Oriental theme as apposed to Tropical!!!)

Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge 28

Hello!!

The weekend at last and time to post my card for the Fresh Batch challenge over at Stamps and Smiles. This little card is going into two challenges this week as stamp TV have a red and brown Colour challenge so this one fits the bill.

• Stamps: Timeless Treasures by Theresa Momber for Gina K Designs
• Card: GKD Soft Sand , Bazzill Chocolate, White Card, dp Doodlebug Designs - ladybug picnic.
• Embellishment: 2 Kaisercraft red gems and some ribbon.

I used the soft sand for my card base. Then added a layer of white card followed by the chocolate then the dp. I used my Spellbinders Nestabillities to cut all the scalloped and plain circles.

The first chocolate scalloped circle was cut and then cut again to reveal the dp underneath. Once the image was stamped onto the white card I sponged around the edge whilst it was still in the die. Attached it to the chocolate circle and added this element using foam tabs to pop it up. Tied the ribbon and added the gems and that was it.

Nina's Elegant Post.

Most of the cards I've shared this month have featured Nina Brackett's new set Elegant Post and today is Nina's Blog Hop for this set. I'm very happy to be sharing two projects with you today and they are really the last for my Centrestage Spotlight time on Stamp TV. It's been a fantastic time, I've had so much fun and am so grateful for the opportunity.

So the first project is a card -

This is one of the first cards I made with Nina's set and the idea came from a very clever card maker Donna. I couldn't wait to try her layout and this is the perfect stamp for it. It's basically three layers onto a card base. Using a double sided card with the image stamped onto one side, then just folding.

• Stamp: Elegant Post Nina Brackett for Gina K Designs
• Card: GKD Soft Sand and Black. DP is a double sided from Kaisercraft- to have and to hold. The gold is a small piece I've had a while (sorry not sure).
• Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

My second project is a gift pouch with four cards enclosed, two of each design.

The cards are very simple with the image stamped in silver and sitting on some black and silver dp. Eyelets were used at the top of these cards with a ribbon threaded through and tied in a bow to finish off.

I've used the post and the lantern from the set on the front of the pouch, stamped in silver with some light sponging. Spellbinder dies were used to cut both the ovals and Martha Stewart gems were set into each scallop.

The dp used is from Nina's coordinating digital paper which is also available from GKD. I've used the grey on the front with the red inside.

Ribbon is threaded through two silver eyelets to close the pouch.

I've added a picture of the side view to show that this is a pouch more than a folder .

For the inside I used the red digi paper and also stamped two more of the images from the set for the flap.

• Card: Gina K Design Black, Soft Sand and PL Heavy weight Pure white and Nina's Elegant Post digital paper 'Elegant'
• Ink: VersaColor - Silver
• Embellishments: Ribbon, Martha Stewart Gems.

Mojo Monday 99 - Christmas!!!!

Oh dear Mojo Monday on Friday - I'm slipping!!!

Now this was a different sketch - I wanted to use this sentiment and make one more Christmas card so hope this works OK.

• Stamps: Sentiment - GKD Warm and Cozy Christmas, Little bells are SU.
• Card: GKD Apple Green, PL pure White layering weight, SU Riding Hood Red, DP - Basic Grey Wassail falling snow and brandy butter.
• Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia.
• Ribbon: SU

My base card is apple green. First layer is riding hood red, followed by dp brandy butter.

I ran a line of piercing around this element. Then added more of the apple green, which was embossed using a script embossing folder and inked in sepia. The caramel strip is the reverse of brandy butter and once this was attached I added the ribbon.

I matted the next layer of dp onto more riding hood red. Added the part circle and stamped the small bells. Used more of the red card embossed with swiss dots before adding the sentiment which was attached with foam tabs to pop it up.

Yesterday home was like a madhouse!!! Two men fitting the new fire between the kitchen and dining room and another fitting two new exterior doors on the laundry and the side door into the garage!! So much for hiding down in my room - the phone was running hot I was up and down the spiral staircase till in the end I gave up!! Once they all left Walshie and I set about getting the house back in order - outside was the worse with wood shavings everywhere ............

never mind all done now.

Other than that I'm not too unhappy - she stamped beautifully and is a joy if you like to colour. Look at that gorgeous flower - I need to find some more just like it in other colours.
I'd actually quite like to have one of the sitting down Tilda's too - oh listen to me never satisfied!! LOL!!
OK that's enough frivolity... I'm so pleased with this little stamp and I will get better, and probably add to my collection......shh ...don't tell 'Walshie'!!

Sunshine's Digital Stamps

Hi everyone,

Yesterday in the mail I received my new stamps from Gina K and last night was craft night with 'Le Girls' so I sat and cut the stamps out ready to stamp today and guess what! It's 2pm Ian's working from home today so spread across the kitchen island bench and I've been unable to get on with the things I want to do!!!! How frustrating is this...... does anyone else have the same problem? Oh don't get me wrong I like having 'The Boss' around I think it's me who needs to get her act together!!

In the mail today I received some candy I won from Bev's blog in the UK. I am now the proud owner of a Magnolia stamp! whoopee She's 'Loving Tilda' holding a rose and quite gorgeous. Heidi from SimonSaysStamp.com also popped some beautiful blooms in the packet - how lucky am I!! Can't wait to play.

So Today a very quick card made with one of the new digital stamps from Sunshine's Stamps.

I've copied and pasted three of the images flipped them round and re sized them for my very simple and quick card. That's the great thing about digital images...... there are so many possibility's and mixing and matching up stamps is fun. Cuttlebug Challenge 43 - Congrats.

Back again!!

Here is a little card made for the Cuttlebug Challenge this week. If you're anything like me you'll wonder how you ever managed without the Cuttlebug embossing folders! I use mine all the time and have an ever growing wish list.

So to the Card - I know that bright pink is a bit 'in your face' for me BUT there is pink in the dp honest!!!!
