Challenges, Recipe hops, exciting stuff all here...

Hi Blogger's,

First things first, Nina over at TMITA is having a recipe blog hop Wednesday December 9th.
Lots of new stuff happening over there, you won't want to miss it so mark your calendars.
Click on the image above to take you to Nina's blog where she will tell you all about it.

Now today's card is one I made for Melanie's Pot Luck Friday Challenge over on Stamp TV.
The challenge was to split up your background and use the sentiment for the focal point of the card. So here goes.

I tried really hard with this photo but the colours are not quite right........ I always have trouble with purple!!!

My base card is from a pack by Kaisercard - metallic purple which came with a matching envelope.
The stamped pinwheel is from Nina Brackett's set 'Bug Me Anytime' for GKD and the sentiment is also a GKD set 'Thanks a Million'.

Card stock used is SU Lavender Lace and American Craft Card Chestnut and GKD Pure Luxury layering weight in pure white.

The pinwheels were stamped randomly with a small portion coloured with a Copics lavender marker.
Once the background was cut into three sections it was matted to the chestnut card.

Chocolate ribbon was used to wrap around and tie in a bow to the side and some chocolate pearls were added to the centre of the pinwheels.

The sentiment was stamped in SU chocolate chip and cut with a Nestability die. I've inked around the edge in c c and attached the sentiment to the card with fine foam tabs.

Now I have to tell you I was so excited yesterday..........the mail man delivered me a package from the UK. I visit a very tallented card maker in the UK called Bev Rochester, I'll bet you know her too. She makes the most gorgeous cards, full of detail and the most adorable embellishments. She has a huge following but is very generous with her time visiting her followers blogs when she can. Well anyway, she made a card for a monochromatic challenge which I loved........When I left a comment I laughingly said 'oh send it to me', she emailed me asking for my address!! Hush my mouth... I was joshing....... she knew I was but said she wanted to send it to me .... and she has!!!!!!!!!!! Along with some of her gorgeous embellishments, charms, spacers, gem brads all kinds........how lucky am I my first RAK I think.
Well let me tell you IRL it's even better than it looked on her blog post. I'm so thrilled, I keep looking at it. Here's a link so you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks so much Bev, I hope if I get home next year I get the chance to meet you. x

Now to all my American friends... I'm posting this on Thursday 26th.... it might not be quite that where you are but anyway...........HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Hope you get to spend it with family and friends.

OK I think that was it for today...... so till next time.......
