HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hi Blogger's,

Just popped in to wish you all a Very Happy New Year!!!
Hope 2010 is good to you and that you enjoy good health and much happiness.
Walshie and I saw the New Year in at home, watching the amazing Sydney fireworks on TV. My back was not really up to standing around the City for hours this year..... but next year I hope we get there, I missed the atmosphere! We could hear the loud bangs though.... and to be honest if we'd walked up to the top of the drive into the bush we would have seen them in the distance.

So for the first card this year........
I thought I'd share a card I made for a friend who celebrated her Birthday just after Christmas.

The Holly branch from GKD Holiday Cheer was stamped onto some cream on cream fabric that had been backed with a layer of fine batting. VersaFine vintage sepia ink was used to stamp and then using embroidery thread in shades of red, green and gold and a small back stitch the design was stitched.

Black card from GKD was cut to size to make a 5" card and using a Spellbinders die a circle was cut from the centre. The embroidered piece was centred and attached to the back of the black card with double sided tape, then using more double sided tape the front of the card was sealed to the back to enclose the embroidery. The gold scalloped frame was added with the corner details also cut from gold card. The sentiment Birthday Wishes from Nina's Elegant Post for GKD was stamped in gold embossing powder onto a scrap of red card and cut with an oval die. Three cherry red sprinkles were added to the remaining corner to finish.

The completed black centre was then centred to the background card which was cut to 5.5 " from American Crafts - Rouge. I also decorated the inside of this card as you can see here.

Thanks for taking the time to pop in on the 1st day of the new year - hope you're not suffering from last night's celebrations!!! I'm off for a walk with the boss!
Till next time........

Sorry you didn't feel up to the personal viewing this year but it will be something to look forward to for next year!
