Gifts Gallore.....

I'm playing along with the lollipop ladies today it's challenge No 5 which is all about Candy Stripes for Christmas.  Here is the inspirational Picture.

I've coloured another of my LOTV stamps using Copic markers and Prisma's for some shading.  I also picked this striking striped paper from Websters Pages to add to the theme. Love my new SU border punch so couldn't resist using that again.

My card is also entered into the Totally Gorjuss Challenge - 49 which is Christmas.

I'll be back on Friday this week with Annabelle's 'Say it in' Challenge, hope you'll call past for that.

Till then........

Friends - CAS86

Hello Blogger's,

I was browsing through the gallery at SCS yesterday and noticed my Mums In Bloom CAS card here got a mention in the favourites (thanks so much Susan R).   One very kind lady posted a message on my card to let me know, or I'd have been none the wiser.  I do pop cards into their gallery and have played along with some of the challenges, but to tell the truth I'm not too sure how things work.   'Message to self'...... sit and read the information provided on the site!

Anyway, I'm rambling on,  what I want to say is that I looked at a couple of the challenges and the CAS 86 one caught my eye.  I found these little flowers in a New (to me) stationary shop and they just jumped into my hand.........how cute are they?  I  matched the challenge and my new purchase with a sentiment stamp from Annabelle Stamps 'Ballerina Rose'.  Martha Stewart's Garden Trellis  was  just right for the horizontal strip behind my flowers.         What do you think?  I'm quite pleased with this one.

Till next time.............

SU Christmas Cards.

What do you think about this for a different Christmas Card?   Fiona our local Stampin Up rep is having a little competition this month making Christmas cards with our SU supplies.    I've just received this beautiful Poppy Parade card, ink and ribbon which was a start but  can you believe I don't have a Christmas Stamp.  Actually that's not true I do have one but I wanted to use this red ink..........so here's my card using Circle Circus, what do you think?  I quite like it.

Here's the other little Christmas stamp I have, the Christmas tree  from Fun And Fast Notes.

You know what,  I think  I'm moving ever closer to CAS cards...........I much prefer the first card with plenty of white space.

Sydney enjoyed some summer weather over the week end and yours truly spent quite a few hours gardening.......trouble is I'm paying for it now!  Think I might find a shady spot, read a book and enjoy the tidy garden.......it won't last!!

Thanks for popping in .............

Roses Challenge - Kaleidoscope Pendant

It's the last Sunday of the month, which means it's time for The Roses Challenge. This bouquet of roses is made up of the following crafty ladies, Betty, Connie, Kym, Kerrie, Olga and ..... oh yeh me!

We take it in turns to set a challenge each month and post a picture.
Note: It's not Sunday in the US when my blog post goes up so the girls might not be up yet!!!!

This month Kym got to pick the challenge and asked us to try our hand at 3D decoupage, or as I know it paper tole which is layering an image.  We were given a list of on-line sites with some wonderful papers we could use, and this one caught my eye. It's offered as a free download for personal use by Beci Brindley.  Do you like these jewel colours?

I printed mine on one sheet of A4 Glossy Photo Paper which shows the colours really well and is also easier to cut with a craft knife. Four layers plus the base layer make up this pendant.   So, once the top four layers were cut I used a Spellbinder circle die to cut around the base layer.   Then it's just a matter of attaching each layer one after the other over the base layer, using foam tape.  I added a Little Annabelle Sprinkle to the centre of the final layer.
My base card is a Metallic Purple pre folded card from Kaisercraft, which has a glossy finish and matching envelope.  To the front of the card I added a layer of Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue dp with some purple ribbon.  The little sentiment label was cut from more photo paper, using a Sizzix die. The sentiment comes from  Annabelle Stamps set "Flowers With Love" and is stamped with StazOn jet black.  Three more Sprinkles and purple ribbon complete the card.

I'm so pleased with the way this card came together and wouldn't hesitate to try another, there are so many images on the web to download.   Thanks Kym, I really enjoyed your challenge and hope the girls did too.    Do you want the link to try one for yourself?  OK here it is have fun........Oh and let me know where I can see what you make.....please.

Til next time................

Waltzingmouse - Nutcracker Sweet

So just a reminder ........ My Candy has just a few more days to run if you haven't got your name down yet .    You have to be in it to win it!!!!!!  Check it out here.

Look who got her new Waltzingmouse stamps yesterday.  I couldn't wait to ink one to  colour last night, who needs TV with new stamps!

As soon as this gent was 'Copic ed'.... I had to see him on a card.

I'm entering this card in this weeks Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #72.

So in brief the details:
I cut around the outside edges of the image and popped him up with fine foam tape onto some gold card that had been cut into an oval with a Spellbinder die.  This sits over some sponged white card ready to be attached to the card with two layers of foam.
Do you like the musical notes? that's another WMS set called Musical Backgrounds  Stamped to white card using Memento London Fog Ink then distressed with Rangers Antique Linen.  The second half is a sheet of Basic Grey Wassail dp that I embossed using Swiss Dots, then lightly sanded across the top.

Some gathered satin ribbon, a sentiment tag from Spellbinders plus the corner detail and my card was complete.

Hope you like this one!!!

Till next time..................

Sassy - April Showers

Hiya,

I 'm sharing a card today that was inspired by the Azalea's that line my driveway.  Every year they burst into bloom about this time and they're really beautiful.  Trouble is that we seem to get quite heavy rain too, which spoils them!  So every year I go and take a picture while they look good.  We had rain forecast for the early part of this week so I took my pictures Monday morning. As soon as they were downloaded to the computer I was inspired to make today's card.
Here's a couple of the photos.

The pink ones are my favourites but I have to say the white probably look the most striking!
So here's my card,  I've coloured a Sassy Cheryl digital image called April Showers........ Don't you just love these lovely whimsical drawings?
What inspires your cards? This a subject Susan Raihala  is talking about on her blog this week interesting isn't it?
This card is entered in the following challenges:

The Secret Crafter  #101 -  Anything goes.
Alphabet Challenge  #U - Unused stash.  I've used some unused SU DP, Ribbon and the little chipboard tile that I covered with dp.
Stamp Something    # September Digiday -  Use something digital.

LOTV - Gone Fishing........

Good Morning Blogger's,

I was so excited to receive a couple of sets and this little stamp from Lili Of The Valley in the UK on Friday.  Couldn't wait to get this one inked up....... how cute is he?  I love the cap.

I've stamped him onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured him with Copic markers.  The embellishment on the right is a fishing lure that I pinched acquired from DH tackle box.  I had to get the hook off naturally, but left some fishing line on.

This little card is for the following Challenges:

Stampin Royalty # 37 Stitching.
Create4fun-challenge   Week 38 -  Sketch ..... which I turned.
Just Us Girls  #51 -Colour Challenge - Green, Red, Black and a neutral colour.
Sweet Stampin  #44 - Stitching.
Southern Girls Challenge # 1 Anything goes.
Creative Cottage  # 23 - Boys Birthday.

WOW - 7 challenges is a record for me ...... but I love this little image!!!

Misc chat.....
How was your week end? Did you do anything special?  We had Spring  weather again so I managed to do a bit in the garden.  Walshie cut the grass which was good...... He still hasn't got 100% strength in his left hand though so has to be a bit careful, we've had a couple of broken cups where he forgets !!  He can now sleep laying down instead of in a chair though the ribs are still sore, but that's a huge improvement so he's getting better.

OK that's it from me ........ Till next time.......x

Annabelle Stamp - September Preview - Christmas Scene Baubles

Hello Blogger's.

If you've followed the blog hop starting at the Annabelle Stamps Blog you should have arrived here from Teresa's blog.  Don't forget to leave a comment as you hop past all the blogs to be eligible to win a copy of today's  Christmas set.

Day 3 of our  Annabelle Stamps September previews and today we preview a more traditional set!      'Christmas Scene Baubles'.
I promise not to keep you too long today...... I have three cards to share the first one shows two of the baubles stamped using ABS gold embossing powder.  I've used Copic markers to colour these then swiped around the edge of the stamped panel with more gold embossing powder. A couple of  ABS Sprinkles   in opposite corners are the only other embellishment used before popping this panel up with foam tape.

The second card  uses all three baubles as well as three of the scenes. Stamped and cut out to pop up onto the dp with some gold thread.  I've also sprayed these with gold glimmer mist which I R L gives them a pretty glow. The bow is also from this set stamped onto gold card cut out. The  detail dry embossed using an embossing tool.

My last card was made to show you these gorgeous Holly leaves that will be available from ABS with this release.  Teamed here with Cherry Sprinkles and some gorgeous red satin ribbon for a traditional Christmas card.

Time now to hop over to Ida's blog to see what she has for you today.  All three sets are available from Annabelle Stamps today.  Andrea will have the details of her release specials on the ABS Blog but I believe if you purchase all three sets you will receive one metre of each of the new ribbons  ......  sounds good to me!

Enjoy the hop, see you soon.......

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 14

Hiya,

Just a little calmer in my corner today, so time to share the card I made for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #14.

I've used WMS Picnic Patterns for this card using two of the background stamps for the top red portion of my card, with some light sponging too. From the same set the pretty flower stamp for the focal point.   The sentiment is from another WMS set called Fancy Phrases.  I've used a strip of the scalloped green card for the sentiment and though you perhaps can't see it here I've attached the strip with the bottom left free and lifted it off the background a little.

Tomorrow is the last preview day for Annabelle Stamps so I'll be back for that at 12pm our time, hope you'll join us for the preview blog hop.

Hooo Loves Christmas?...........

Welcome to Day 2 of Annabelle Stamps September previews.  The blog hop starts at the ABS blog, if you've arrived from Teresa's blog you're on the right track.  Leave a comment at every stop to be eligible for the randomly drawn winner of today's set.

Today we feature Hooo Loves Christmas?

I've a few things to show today so I'll get right to it.....a couple of Christmas sets and your cards, tags even wrapping paper can be organized well in advance of Christmas.

The wrapping paper here is a sheet of Butcher's paper  randomly stamped, some of the images have been coloured but not all. Add a label and some pretty ribbon and here's one Kris  Kringle done!

The card uses the same tree stamp decorated with ABS Sprinkles some Basic Grey DP ABS satin ribbon and a Christmas button.
The sentiment is from last year's set Holly Branch.

Here's another idea,  a Boxed Christmas Organizer (computer generated label  name). This box holds three notepads.

1.  Christmas Gift buying list ( a must have for me so I can remember what I bought last year!!!).
2.  Christmas Grocery list..... I can add to it on the run up to Christmas, so no last minute dash! (hopefully).
3.  Christmas card list, it changes a bit every year and I plan to up-date addresses etc. as they change.  I'm hoping this will mean I can get rid of a few old address books.

So, all together in one place, not too big so I can keep it in the stationary drawer.  Not a bad gift idea either!

Want to see the notepads?

I've kept them quite simple, but I love the little images.  I've used stamps from Santa's Star on these and even made a pocket on the front of the Cards pad to pop in some stamps.........Think I might buy a few at a time this year.......Overseas postage is horrendous!!!!

One last card to share......... I couldn't not stamp these adorable Owls could I?
I thought I'd make a non traditional card ..... what do you think is this not the cutest image?
I've added ABS pearls here for a little bling.

OK I've held you up long enough it's time to move on to the next blog. I'm sure Ida is waiting for you with more inspiration to share.

I'll be back in a couple of days with the third and last set in the Annabelle September previews, hope to see you then..............

OLW #20 - Hip, Hip Hooray!

Hello Blogger's,

Here's my card for Susan's One layer Wednesday #20.  The challenge this week was for 3 and 1..........That is, three images and one sentiment.

Looking at my card you'll be asking yourself .... can she count ?  Ha ha  I can read minds!  I thought for a while about how to play this one.  My stamp choice was  a set of three balloons from Annabelle Stamps 'Hold A Candle'.  Would I just stamp it once and call it three images, or stamp one image  three times..........See my dilemma?

Well you can see what I decided and to make it fit  some of the image is 'off the page' anyway!  If I've broken the rules...........Sorry........ but..... have to say I quite like this!

Back tomorrow with a huge post for the 2nd day of Annabelle Stamps Sept. previews, hope you'll call past for that.......Oh and don't forget my September Candy here.

AnnaBelle Stamps - Sept. Previews - Santa's Star.

Welcome to AnnaBelle Stamps September previews. These previews take the form of a blog hop starting at the ABS Blog.  If you’ve arrived here from Teresa’s blog you’re on the right track.  Don’t forget to leave a comment at each blog along the way ... You could be the randomly picked winner of the  featured set.

Today we feature “Santa’s Star”, lots of fun images and the first of the Christmas sets.
For my project I made a boxed set of four 4" x 4" cards using some of these images.

The larger image was used for the box lid and this one coloured with Prisma's, some glitter for the star and the fun Christmas ribbon from ABS.

For the cards I've mixed it up a bit, you'll see some paper piecing,  colouring with Copics and some silver embossing. For the embellishments........well ABS Sprinkles are just perfect! I've used silver mini's, cherry 4mm, red hearts and the green from the gypsy set.

How much fun is this little set? what about the Christmas Pud and the bird sitting on the pressie......too sweet.   Well I won't hold you up any longer you've still got a way to go. We have an extra stop for you too with a guest  for September.......I wonder who it is.....any guesses?
OK Ida is your next stop......have fun.

Back with day 2 on Friday 17th hope you'll call past............
