This fabulous tree is from Waltzingmouse Asian Gardens and I thought it would be perfect for Susan's challenge OWL #18 which this week is a Tree Challenge.
I love the shape of the trunk, which you stamp separately and I tried to add a little dimension by inking it and then sitting it over a bark stamp to get some lines across it. I know a comb swiped across works well , probably lots better than my method as I think this just looks badly inked....... ah well!
I've stamped one of the single 'leaves' stamps, cut it out and popped it up on a foam dot to add a little detail. Then using my Scor-Pal embossed the 1/4" frame around the card.
So there you have it, my one CAS card for this week! I'll be back tomorrow with Andria and the DT girls from AnnaBelle Stamps. We have a very important birthday to celebrate and we're doing it with a blog hop........You should pop by, Andrea will have a prize on offer.
Hope to see you then..............
Wow, I thought I had seen every tree stamp there was, but this is a new one to me.Whatever you thought you did wrong about the trunk.......it's only "wrong" if someone has seen that tree IRL and knows what the shape usually is. Even then, all sorts of anomalies happen to trees, as to humans, and the shape you showed may be the best there is. Love it! :-)
