Hi Blogger's,
I do have a card to share today though!
Thanks for taking the time to call past today, hope it's nice and warm where you are.....pretty cool here, though the sun is out.
Til next time............
It's been a bit quiet around here for a few days and there's a reason for that!! Last week I joined a local Quilting Group!
I was a mad sewer before I started making cards, making quilts, bags, dolls, bears, you name it and I probably gave it a try. I stopped when all the beds had a couple of quilts each and the dolls and bears were starting to get a bit out of hand. I stopped, but there were plenty of UFO's around the place and when it came to moving house my craft supplies made up a large portion of the boxes we transported.
So anyway, getting back to the story.... when it came to taking some work to my first meeting I had a little lap size quilt partially completed to take along. It was a project I bought from a quilt show in Sydney some years ago, incorporating some simple hand embroidery. I had the top 2/3's completed and just needed to join the bottom section which meant adding strips of small 2" x 2" blocks......argh!
The ladies from the group were lovely, very welcoming and interested in the piece I was working on. They all agreed that every quilter has a 'few' UFO's stashed away and were looking forward to seeing my piece completed.......... So wanting to make a good impression with these really talented ladies....I've been busy!
Here's where I'm up to with the quilt, just the outer borders to go and hopefully at the next meeting they will be added and this piece is ready for quilting!
I do have a card to share today though!
Over at Stamp, Embellish, Create Andrea hosts a monthly challenge with a prize of a $20 shopping voucher for the AnnaBelle Store. With some beautiful new sets, including Digital Papers and fabulous Dies in store $20 would kick start any shopping trip!!!!
The June challenge was to make a shaped card so I pulled out the PI and had a play.
I've used Lil Bee's Flowers (which is the prize for this week's sketch challenge) for my card and designed the card base on the Pazzles Inspiration. Love playing with my die cutter, and I know lots of you use them too, so shaped cards are a breeze!
There's a new challenge just up for July....... go take a look......
Thanks for taking the time to call past today, hope it's nice and warm where you are.....pretty cool here, though the sun is out.
Til next time............
Sue - that quilt is lovely. You are obviously very patient! Have fun with finishing this one.

ReplyDeleteLove the card also. Off to Florida next week for three weeks taking grandson Jake he is 9 and his parents. Hugs xx
The beehive shaped card is fantastic but it's the quilt that's got my attention this post... I would love to start making a quilt, but I have no idea where to begin. My sewing skills are minimal to say the least. Your quilt looks incredible!
ReplyDeleteI have always admired quilters - their work is amazing, and so is yours. Always knew you were a closet 'something'! Gorgeous card too but your quilt has stolen the show!
