McScottie the Dog!

Hi Blogger's........... just back from the Port Macquarie craft show where I spent a happy hour or so taking in some fabulous craft.  Paper craft, needlecraft, silk dyed pieces, jewelery and best of all the wood turning and cutting.  I watched a man cut the cutest little birdhouse, hanging from a post that in total would have been just 4 inches tall. The detail was fabulous!   They had beautiful pens with the smallest scenes inlaid in the barrel. Beautiful pepper mills that were fine, not at all bulky and what's more they worked!!!!So many things to try......I wonder if I could interest the 'boyfriend' in this craft.......

Anyway, I have a different kind of card to share today.  One of the girls from the quilting group showed me a cat card she had received  and I thought I'd try one but make mine a dog!  I've a friend in the UK with a little dog just like this, so this card has her name on it!

I'm not the best sketch artist though I do, every now and then play! It's fun looking back through my sketch book at some of the things I've drawn........mostly for sewing I should say.  Anyway not sure that I have this little dog quite right but am hoping with the tartan bow and snipped edges to the face you'll get the idea :)

It's quite a simple design where you fold the head down over the folded front legs.  I used those $2 shop, googlie eyes and a button for his nose.  The little message he's presenting is a free download from Kolette Hall who designs and sells some beautiful cut files.......go take a look!

Soooo,........be honest, did you recognise this as a little scottie dog before I told you?............or do I need to keep practicing with my pencil!!!!
