The Roses February Challenge

Hello,

Last Sunday of the month means it's time for The Roses Challenge.  This month the challenge set by Patti was to CASE one of the girls cards.   So many lovely cards and projects have been made over the years we've been friends so it was hard to choose just one!   In the end I decided to CASE this card by Olga.

Here it is.......I love that centre stage is given to a quote or sentiment.  I also really like the pretty flower flourish across the bottom left corner.

Earlier in the week I bleated about my problems with the Computer.  It's good to hear I'm not the only one who has issues and I thank you for your kind words!  In the end I backed up my hard drive to another device then erased all the Time Machine back ups (Once the external drive was un-mounted  (is that a word??)  LOL).  Last night I re configured the external drive with Time Machine and ran a full back up of my hard drive............guess what......IT WORKED!   Breathing a huge sigh of relief as it's been working fine since.........I'm a happy girl again :)

Today's card uses a new (to me) stamp but it's one that's been around a while from Inkadinkado.  When I saw it at Scrapbook Boutique (one of Evelyn's bargain stamps $1 just love having these in the stash,) I thought it would be a handy 'thank you' stamp for my stash. 

 Kinda cute and perfect for those male thank you cards!

Sketch time at AnnaBelle Stamps

I had to play with Easter Chickadee again this week......these little chicks are the cutest!

I wanted to use a sentiment from another AnnaBelle set Whimsy Flowers. As this one was a vertical sentiment I had to stamp it and cut it to use as tiles.......It worked pretty well, I think!

Hellooooo,

I've had a very frustrating week! Computer problems.......some caused by me.....true.

My external backup disk wouldn't back up! It went through everything and at the last moment I got an error message.  Still working on this problem.....hours of reading everything I could about Time Machine and the FreeAgent Drive.  Still not working ..... and I'm sick of the message that keeps coming up telling me to try Disk Utilities and running the Diagnostic test.  I've done this, several times, and it says the Disk is fine!!! Any suggestions, other than chucking it as far as I can???

Next, I couldn't empty the computer Trash Bin!!! Another day messing around until a very helpful Welsh man on some forum, suggested I download a little program call TrashIt.  Left that running overnight and thankfully came back to an empty Trash bin :)  Hopefully with no other nasties attached.  

I'll own up, this problem was caused by me.  The last time my Backup disk played up I thought perhaps it would help if I 'trashed' a few of the early files! (even though this should happen automatically......yes I know !).  This is apparently a big  NO NO and was why the Trash wouldn't empty.

Here's the thing, when companies make techie stuff I really think it would be helpful if they could add a list of the things you shouldn't do in plain speak...........you know for those of us who aren't or don't have access to a geek...........is that a big ask ? 

So now I'm sitting in front of 'said' computer after a relaxing day spent sewing with friends. I've made just one card this week and that's ready for AnnaBelle's on Friday.  Did you check out the February release? Some lovely Easter goodies!

I do have a share though. Remember this post where I shared a picture of a Wren who visits my garden.  I wanted to try and sketch one, something I haven't done in ages.  Well it took a few goes and lots of rubbing out, but eventually I got something I was reasonable happy with.  I coloured it using Prisma's....be kind!   I think I might put this in a small white frame for my NEW room which is coming along nicely!!!

Is it Friday yet???? I'd quite like this week to be over :)

First up, using Easter Chickadee........some packaged chocolate treats, such fun to use these  stamps and dies to decorate a gable box.  

I've lined the oval with some clear acetate and added a couple of the chicks as well as a buggy full of little eggs!  The Easter tag was cut using CBD 003 Decorated Christmas.....perfect size and added to some ABS 6mm Kiwi gingham with Lime fine hemp twine.

This little gift card with it's stamped envelope also uses Easter Chickadee with a die cut popped up flower  and chick. Two avocado Sprinkles as a little bling.

 I've used  Rose polka dot and Avocado digital paper from ABS Digital range on this card, adding banners over the first layer. The image is from  Easter Blessings and I stamped the small leaf around the circle. This was hand cut to pop up over CBD 002 Shapes 1 label .......Can you just make that out?  Pearls added around the wreath to finish.  Inside this card I've stamped one of the Easter messages.

My final card uses repeat stamping of the three tulips to create a background for the delightful label from the set.  This too was cut using the matching die CBD 002 Shapes 1. ABS Lime fine hemp twine wrapped and tied in a bow to finish this one.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing these new products from AnnaBelle, I had such fun working with them.

A Musical LIM #106

The challenge this week at Less Is More (106) is a one layer challenge to include some reference to MUSIC.

Here's my card, finger's crossed I've got it right first time this week :)

I masked and sponged a one inch strip in VersaColor sand beige, then stamped AnnaBelle's BBD # 6 and a sentiment in Hero Hues Latte.  A strip of stitched ribbon and MFT Die-namics musical notes dies provided the semiquavers.

Another interesting challenge from  'the old dart', with some great interpretations.  Thanks ladies :)
