A Sunday Giggle for the broad minded......

Only read this post if you're broad minded.............

One of the ladies from Mah Jong read Fifty Shades of Grey and the books that followed.....Well I was a bit surprised as said lady is a member of the Book Club and usually mentions titles a little more.. um well lets say conservative :)  More surprising was that each of the women knew quite a bit about the books even though they hadn't read them, they'd read about them LOL.  I see this week one of the challenge blogs has a Fifty Shades Of Grey challenge......though of course they do just mean the colour GREY:)

The ladies thought it was hilarious that I received two copies from friends at Christmas.......Not  sure what to read into this gift (pardon the pun).
Now, I'm broad minded and I enjoy a good book but have to tell you I didn't finish Fifty Shades... to be honest I got bored with it so have no idea how it ended.  Anyone want the second copy..... a hard back, unopened :).....actually I haven't seen it lately, though it must be around somewhere.

The same lady sent me the following this morning, which made me laugh out loud.  Not TOO sure if I should add it here but to quote ELLEN........  a n y w a y !!!!!

                        FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view) -
                        By Pam Ayres of course..

                        The missus bought a Paperback,
                        down Shepton Mallet way,
                        I had a look inside her bag;
                        ... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".
                        Well I just left her to it,
                        And at ten I went to bed.
                        An hour later she appeared;
                        The sight filled me with dread...
                        In her left she held a rope;
                        And in her right a whip!
                        She threw them down upon the floor,
                        And then began to strip.
                        Well fifty years or so ago;
                        I might have had a peek;
                        But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
                        She's eighty four next week!!
                        Watching Mabel bump and grind;
                        Could not have been much grimmer.
                        And things then went from bad to worse;
                        She toppled off her Zimmer!
                        She struggled back upon her feet;
                        A couple minutes later;
                        She put her teeth back in and said
                        I am a dominater !!
                        Now if you knew our Mabel,
                        You'd see just why I spluttered,
                        I'd spent two months in traction
                        For the last complaint I'd uttered.
                        She stood there nude and naked
                        Bent forward just a bit
                        I went to hold her, sensual like
                        and stood on her left tit!
                        Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
                        My god what had I done!?
                        She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
                        "Step on the other one"!!
                        Well readers, I can't tell no more;
                        About what occurred that day.
                        Suffice to say my jet black hair,
                        Turned fifty shades of grey.

Hope you're enjoying your week end...........

  2. LOL I am picturing in my mind the whole scenario. I rather stick to my 50 shades of acrylic paint, 50 shades of double sided paper and 50shades of glitter glue and the list goes on haha.

  3. Just read this to the husband and we both had a giggle! I am with you over the book - not that I have read any of it; doesn't interest me as literature. But the poem is a crack-up!

  4. LOL. I have a picture now too! I am like Sue above - much rather stick to my 50 shades any other way. Have no inclination to read the book(s) - and I think I am fairly open minded. I have heard lots about them like your Mah Jong friends and have several friends who have read them. They actually tell me the writing isn't all that great - probably why you didn't finish.

  7. Thanks Sue. Did enjoy this and took it to work and shared with friends. It's amazing who has read the book. I was on a tour last year and there were three ladies in their 80s and they had all read it. One told me she read all three in a week because they were doing the rounds of the retirement village and she was under pressure to pass them on
