Scrapbook Boutique January Inspiration and Blog Hop.

Hello,

and Happy New Year to all the regular  Scrapbook Boutique   readers.  It's time for the first Blog Hop and Inspirational Challenge for 2014 so grab a coffee, and join us.

The Hop starts and ends at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog.  If you're following along you should have arrived from Melissa's blog and when you leave me you hop over to Therese's Blog.

The hop is open for one week, closing at midday Friday 17th January.
To be eligible to win the prize, leave a comment on each of the blogs, with the SB blog being the last one.  The random winner will be drawn from the  SB blog and announced on Saturday 18th.

Unfortunately the blog hop prize (and the inspiration challenge) are only open to anyone with an Australian mailing address.

Join the Blog Hop and you could be the lucky person to receive this  Call Me from Flourishes

Join us again this year for our regular monthly inspirational challenge.
Make a project using the following picture as your inspiration.

You could be the winner of a $30 gift voucher for Scrapbook Boutique.

Here's my 2014 desktop calendar which uses one of those Dollar Stores acrylic photo frames as the base which measure 5' x 7".  The calendar was a download HERE. It prints on 2 A4 sheets of card stock. I cut it to make my 3" x 4" monthly calendar.  I really like the font used and if you look closely you can see the watermark behind January. February has 02, March 03 and so on. Very elegant I think!  I'm always  grateful when clever people share their work :).

Now for those who like to read the 'how to' :

  • Slip a 5 x 7 inch piece of card into the picture frame.
  • Layer some neutral card over smooth white card.
  • Add a punched border to the edge of some polka dot dp and add this to the previous layers.
  • Stamp the image twice, cutting one using an oval die. From the second image cut out the wing.
  • Colour the image (and the wing) with Prisma Pencils using Zest it Blending Solution to blend the colours.
  • Die cut a lacy oval shape from neutral card stock.
  • Adhere the coloured image over the neutral card using double sided tape.
  • Using a foam adhesive square add the wing.
  • Die cut from scrap green card a leaf branch. I cut out two of the top leaves and stamped the birds feet to the branch so he sits on the branch :). Adhere this to the oval using dries clear adhesive.
  • Add the completed oval to the right of the layered card stock.
  • Print the 2 Calendar pages to A4 card and cut the individual months out at 4" x 6".
  • To adhere the 12 month together, make sure the tops are all even and using two bulldog clips to hold the pack together run some Tacky Glue across the top of the pack.  Leave to dry then remove the bulldog clips.
  • Add rows of high tac double sided tape to the back of the calendar and adhere to the layered card base.
  • Do the same to the base of the card and adhere to the acrylic photo frame to finish.

That's it from me, enjoy the rest of the hop!
