Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #36

Hello, back on safe ground again today with my card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch #36.
Interesting sketch don't you think?   I've flipped it for my card,  it's OK that's allowed!

The pretty blossom from Asian Garden features on the front of my card. Stamped in SU close to cocoa and blushing bride directly ove the DP which is from Kaisercraft English Rose 6 x6 collection.
Three of the larger blossoms stamped to a scrap of pink card and cut with a small circle Spellbinder die. The middle one I cut out and popped up over some pale tan card.  A sentiment from the set stamped off to the left before this layer was machine stitched to more of the pale tan card.
To finish off I added tiny pale pink gems from AnnaBelle Stamps to the centre of the large blossoms and a few of the smaller ones.

This card is on it's way to the UK to cheer up my Aunt who has to stay in hospital for a while.
Back soon with a quick Digital card from Pink Petticoat. Hope to see you then....

Let Your Dreams Take Flight.

Hello,

Today's card is for our Roses Challenge this month which was picked by 'The Other Patti Sue'.... She wanted us to  make Monochromatic Cards.

I've used this weeks Less Is More Challenge # 4 which is to 'Take  Three Squares' to form the layout for my card.  I wanted it to be a little different from just three squares across the card ...... so hope it still fits!

My card measures five inches square my first square has been masked, sponged with  Memento Desert Sand and stamped using SU En Francais and Close to Cocoa ink.  Spellbinder Fleur De Lis dies cut two size pendants the largest of which represents my second square. I've added an image from Kaisercrafts Up,Up And Away 6 x 6 paper collection for the centre image and popped it up on foam dots. The third square and smaller pendant holds my computer generated sentiment, this is also popped up.

I couldn't resist a length of double faced satin ribbon finished with a small bow to complete the card.

If you'd like to check the other members of our Rose bouquet .....the link is in the left hand side bar.  Thanks for stopping by today.......I'll see you soon,

Photobucket

Edit:

I did make this card for the LIM challenge taking my lead from other entries......however it seems it's too fancy, which is fine....I've removed it.

OK so here's another card and hopefully this one is more appropriate......very CAS.....same but different, what do you think?  Three squares, not quite straight across the page so I got my slightly different!

No ribbon and the smallest AnnaBelle Gems!  Two of my squares have been masked and sponged. The top one stamped as before, the bottom one with the computer sentiment. The centre square popped up on foam tape.

Happy Sunday......

AnnaBelle Stamps - Sketch Challenge #035

This weeks sketch challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps is a nice simple one which would look equally good  flipped.  Let's see how many variations you can come up with for this one.

This week I decorated a small gift bag and made a card to match - hope you like this set using AnnaBelle's versatile Backgrounds By Design No 3.

Click on the image to see the detail.

My local Spotlight Store had these plain little gift bags for sale at 50c so a couple came home with me....
perfect for small gifts.

The gift card measures 4 x 4.5 inches.

1.   Stamp Backgrounds By Design #3  to create the patterned strip.  Stamping the lattice in Tuxedo Black and adding one of the small accent stamps in Versacolor Lime. Adhere to strip of American Craft Card in black.
2.  Adhere a layer of Pink Petticoat dp over some ACC  in black. Position the stamped and layered section to the left side attach with double sided tape.
3.  Stamp the sentiment from 'Flowers With Love' onto white card and cut with a Spellbinder circle die, before adding to a punched scallop circle in black.  Add one of AnnaBelle's tiny flower petals studded with an AnnaBelle  Sprinkle.
4.  Wrap some White hemp around the card tying off in a bow so it sits to the left of the sentiment circle.
5.  Add the sentiment circle using foam dots.  Add three more Sprinkles to the top right hand corner.

The Gift Bag.

1.  Stamp the tall element the same as the card. Attach it to some black ACC. Position this to the left of some PP dp adhere with double sided tape.  Add the three Sprinkles to the top right corner.
2.  For the circle element on the bag I've added one of my little concoctions, which is basically made up of three felt wound roses, a felt leaf, with a couple of stick pins added. Some tulle and a bow tied in AnnaBelle's fine white hemp.....this is fabulous and ties the best bows.  I make these up on small punched circles of card that can be attached to any project very easily.

For more inspiration why not  check out the Belle's and Bella's blogs  all the links are in the left side bar.

Two cards from me today!!!

I had a great time with my Waltzingmouse stamps and checking the forum noticed that Lynn has a new challenge running from now through till Christmas!!!  Each month she sets the challenge theme,  to make a Christmas card.  Her idea is that we make multiples so when December comes around we've got a stash of cards ready to go.  Sounds good to me!

Per usual, I'm playing catch-up and have both January and February's cards here quick before March arrives!

January's challenge was to make a card using a re-purchased (recycled) Christmas item.  Not hard when most of us paper crafter's keep little bits and pieces 'that just might come in handy'!  Like a pretty red flocked holly Christmas card.........I loved this card so that was my starting point.  (Note to self: in future take a before picture....tut).

I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the card front using the Swiss dots embossing folder.........It didn't matter that the dots didn't go all the way to the end.  My strip of  holly paper with some matching satin ribbon wrapped round, covered this.
I used the tag from 'Very Vintage Christmas' stamped in Poppy Parade and cut using a Spellbinder die for my focal point, mounted over some matching red card.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped on whisper white and cut with a small oval die then mounted to a larger die cut oval of gold card. This sits over the tag on foam tape.  To finish, I added a bow in the same red satin ribbon.

February's challenge was to use whatever was on the work desk to make a Christmas Card!!!

OK, so it's a well known fact that I'm a neat freak! It comes from working in confined spaces... I think!
I did have a couple of odd scraps of white card out and one of my  ribbon boxes...... oh and the Swiss dots embossing folder.....hope that counts!

The base of this card is Kraft. A layer of  Kaisercraft 'Tis The Season' 6 x 6 paper that I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss dots embossing folder was next.  Opposite corners have been rounded on both this and the Kraft base.

Stamp set of choice is 'Nutcracker Sweet' I've used one of the small round stamps.
I stamped this twice  the red outer ring was stamped in Poppy Parade with the centre masked.
Then I stamped the entire image again on another piece of card in Tuxedo Black, cutting the centre free with a small circle die.  This was popped up over the red outer ring with foam dots.

Spellbinders Fancy Tags cut from a scrap of red card  was next and I wrapped some twill ribbon around the dp, threading it behind the tag and tying it off to the left side.  Three AnnaBelle Cherry Sprinkles  complete this one.

Wow, two more Christmas cards ready, I just need to find a sensible place to keep them safe until December!

Thanks for calling past today.......It's my Birthday, so why not leave me a message to let me know you dropped by.  I'll be back Friday with AnnaBelle Stamps sketch Challenge for March, hope you'll be able to call back.......

Oh My! - WMSC35

Yesterday I had time to sit and ink up some of my Waltzingmouse Stamps.....I haven't played in the challenges for a long time and this week WMSC35 is  a star!!!!
Oh good I have one of those saved to the PI so no messing around today right into it!

I also had some  Pink Petticoats paper printed and ready to go. My base card of cream was given two layers, one of plain blue and the second with this subtle pattern.  Machine stitching added a little interest around the star shape.

For the  centre image I've stamped the pretty circle stamp from Vintage Labels 2 followed by one of the tiny accent stamps from Victorian Frippery, stamped four times to fill the centre.  Cut with a Spellbinder die, this is matted to some more of the blue card and popped up on foam dots.

The sentiment, also from Victorian Frippery  was stamped in the same VersaColor  60 Celadon before it too was die cut using a Spellbinder label die.  Now for the fun bit ......layering a handmade lace flower, a scrunched seam binding bow, a smaller PI cut star with the sentiment and a blue button attached.  All tied together with some linen thread.......ahhh ......that's the Tillymint version of Shabby Chic !!!
To finish off I added an AnnaBelle Stamps waterfall Sprinkle to the very centre of the card.

Hope you like..........

Edit:
Whilst I sat making this little card......Christchurch, New Zealand suffered another terrible earthquake with many buildings destroyed and sadly  lives lost.  The news during the evening showed terrible scenes, I'm not sure how people walked away from some of those buildings.
Ian and I had such a wonderful holiday on the South Island of New Zealand.  Spending  quite a  few days enjoying Christchurch.  I cried when I saw the Cathedral........so sad!
My heart goes out to the people of Christchurch and all those who lost loved ones, homes and belongings.
I can't remember such a terrible start to a year as this has been..........

Simply Less Is More.....Challenge 3 - Spring.

I've missed the first couple of challenges at Less Is More, they're up to number 3.
It looks a great CAS Challenge site though with the Blog owners Chrissy and Mandi offering some very useful tips and tricks. I looked back to last week and learnt some useful hints on working with Fonts.

This week is about computer generated sentiments which I've used, but not the way the girls suggest.
I always print them onto card and then die cut the sentiments.......What about arranging them right on the front of the card..........OK am I the only dummy around here.

So enough prattle......This is my entry, Spring Basket.
Sorry girls I was concentrating on the Computer stuff a little more than the composition this time around:)

 I arranged the sentiment (per Chrissie) then added a little free digital image.... that said spring to me!
The white card is some hammered card stock and once the image was dry, I lightly coloured it using Inkadinks.  Some satin ribbon to match and this little CAS card is ready for the envelope.

To be honest I think the sentiment could have gone a little to the left ......and the top line could have come down a smidge! The basket could have been a tiny bit smaller too, maybe.......but overall for a first go........not too bad and I love the sentiment to card thing.

So if you're looking for a Challenge with a little extra.....this could be the one for you!

Till next time.........I'm off to spend some time with Word!!!

Chalk anyone?

Hello....hows everyone?

Any plans for your week-end?  Hope the weather is good for you. Here we had a warm Saturday, too warm for me with a head like a forty shilling pot!!! My cold is moving along nicely no more head in a tissue all day....... Well that's not quite right I still need the tissues .... I just cough my heart out!
OK, OK, no-one likes to hear me whinge right! I'll just get on and show you a quick card.

I needed a Sympathy card so I turned to an old GKD set and this beautiful Orchid image.

I've stamped the orchid in Memento London Fog onto a scrap of X-Press It blending card and.... inspired by  Susan Raihala's card here I've just used some chalk to lightly colour parts of the flower.  It's so subtle not sure you'll see it in the photo unless you make the picture larger!

All other supplies used for this card are from GKD.

My card Base is PL, pure white with a layer of Vibrant Violet.
I've dry embossed some Lovely Lavender card using a Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder.
Next comes a band of Swiss dots embossed Fresh Asparagus card with some Violet gross grain ribbon wrapped around.
The image has been cut and embossed with a Spellbinder Labels 4 die before being popped up over the green/violet band with foam dots.
My sentiment was cut with the smallest label from the set and to complete the card I added three small half pearls.

This really was a quick card to make and I like the light chalk colouring.....might have to try some more...

Thanks for dropping by, enjoy your week end............

ABS Say It In Yellow - Mellow Yellow

This weeks AnnaBelle Stamps Challenge is to Say It In Yellow.

My CAS card features two of the images and a sentiment from AnnaBelle Stamps 'Everything Grows' January release set.
Check out the herringbone ribbon across the bottom........that's one of the background images from the February release of 'BBD3'.....love this stamp!

With a base of cream card followed by some Lemon American Craft Card.
Using a die cut mask (Spellbinder Classic Scalloped Oval) and sponging with VersaColor Narcissus over SU Whisper White card.
The stems were stamped in SU So Saffron as was the herringbone ribbon.
Memento Tuxedo Black stamped the Birthday greeting over the herringbone which was cut out before adhering to the card and two 6mm lemon Sprinkles added to complete.

Mood when finished........Mellow!

Thanks for calling past today.....it's been a busy week here,  I'm looking forward to a relaxing week end .....how about you?
Hope you'll have time to play this week .....  if you need more inspiration check out the Belles and Bellas Blogs...........links in the left side bar!

Designing D.I.V.A.S - OBG Blog Hop

Hello Blogging Buddies!

 Regulars to my blog would have noticed the Designing D.I.V.A.S. badge in the right side bar. This is a fabulous creative group on Facebook.  Each month they hold a Blog Hop called OBG (oldies, but goodies).  This is the second hop and the idea is to go through our "stash" and pull out our "old" stamps and supplies and use them on a project.  So here goes......

If you're following the Hop and  arrived here from  Sue's   blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, you may want to go back to the lovely Brenda's Blog as she started the hop today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my card today I pulled out one of my Stampin Up wood mounted stamps 'Upsy Daisy'......I used this set so much when it first arrived, but it hasn't seen ink for a while......until now!
I've stamped the image using two colours of VersaColor, Lagoon Blue and Celadon  onto SU Whisper White card.
My 5" card base is from a piece of LSS card from my coloured card 'stash' and is followed by a layer of Whisper White.
The rest of the card used  is  digitally printed  in shades of Ocean Blue/White.
I've added plain and zig zagged machine stitching for interest.  Pure white seam binding, tied across the centre and in a bow to the side.
The stamped panel has been popped up on foam dots with two AnnaBelle Stamps Sprinkles in a colour to match the Lagoon Blue.
It just needed a little something else .... preferably old or unused  to finish, so I added opposite corner detail by punching two Cuttlebug Vintage Corners........I had to hunt around for these, it's been so long!
Thanks for dropping by today, why not go dig out an old set and have a play!
 Hmm.... think I'll leave this stamp on my desk for a while.......watch this space!
OK, next stop on your journey is to the fabulous blog of
 Barbara Wibel .........have fun I'll be joining the hop later on, as this goes up at 2am - 17th here in Sydney!!!
An Award.....sniff!
This is my second post today ......Please scroll down for AnnaBelle Stamps Release of Backgrounds By Design 3.   Leave a comment there to be eligible for the prize.
Hello ......  My husband shared with me this Valentines Day........he passed on his cold...sniff!!  We share most things so why not!  I'm typing this looking through eyes full of water and a tissue held up to my nose.....I look terrible, pale with a red nose...can you picture the scene?  We had planned a couple of days away towards the end of the week but that's not  happening now......we'll keep our germs to ourselves I think!
The one bright spot is that I received this lovely award from two of my dear blogging friends. Selma and Theresa.  I am honored that they both chose my blog as one of their five....please if you don't know these blogs go take a look and you will see why.
Selma makes the most amazing floral creations....with such amazing detail. It's no wonder Joan from Joan's Garden chose her to design for her shop and Heartfelt Creations are so lucky to have her on their design team too.
Theresa's blog is a treat to visit, she not only makes wonderful paper creations but she's pretty good with all things digital!  I would love to sit with her and learn how to use Photoshop.....maybe one day!  She also shares beautiful pictures from her garden and it's clear to see where she gets her inspiration.
Here are the Rules of Award Acceptance :
-Right-click on the award and save it to your computer to add to your blog.
-Choose FIVE (5) worthy recipients and list them. Next to their blog name, give ONE reason why you think their blog is special. What catches your eye about them? What do you love?
-On your blog page, list 5 things about yourself.  Include at least one thing you enjoy about your craft.
OK ...so you  know I usually pass these awards on to everyone......not today! Here are 5 blogs I enjoy visiting;   No special order:
Andrea:    Who is the 'Boss' at AnnaBelle Stamps.  Her cards are beautiful and she's pretty good at designing her own clear stamps. (Check out some of the last  sets ........ she's way to modest).
Lisa Lara:  Has one of the best looking blog pages around .....her CAS cards take some beating too.
Marcia:  No-one designs blog pages as nice as she does ..... her blog is a treat too.
Kerrie:  Well she's my buddie we've know each other for years. I talked her into blogging and even though she has a busy  working life she keeps her blog going.
Monique:  Here's another busy blogger who showcases some of the best Dimensional projects and the cutest cards. A visit to her blog is always a treat.
Now 5 things about me....OK what don't you know already!
1. I don't enjoy grocery shopping but wouldn't dream of shopping on-line.
2. I  dislike having to decide what to have for dinner every day!!! (tell me I'm not alone).
3. I'd love to visit CHA!
4. I love to sew as well as play with paper.
5. I hate feeling sick..... and rarely visit the doctor cos even if you go in felling good ...with so many sick people waiting ... you're bound to walk out with something!
Thanks again girls I'm going to take more cold tablets and eat an orange......I know the vit.C is a bit late but still.....sniff
Today we're showcasing Background By Design No.3
These fabulous background stamps are such a wonderful addition to any collection.
I love being able to create my own background designs.
Let me show you how I used my set:
I've made a gift box for some Easter Eggs and decorated it using the spot lattice stamp and one of the small accent stamps.
I've also made a twisted easel card using the herringbone stamp as well as the small tulip from Easter Hope.
The box was cut using the PI and I've used SU Pear Pizzazz and VersaColor Lime to stamp the lattice design  with scattered accents. A thin strip of acetate was adhered to the inside of the cut away section.
The Sentiment circle is from Sentimental Bluebells with the sentiment from Diva!
Some AnnaBelle Apple Green satin ribbon and a couple of Artichoke Sprinkles complete the box.
To go with the gift box is a Twisted Easel Card which measures 4 inches square.
I've stamped the small tulip from Easter Hope onto some Ivory card and adhered it to a scrap of Basic Grey's Kioshi paper which I cut with pinking sheers.
More of the same DP is used to cover  the front and base of this little card.
I've added embossing, punching and the gorgeous herringbone stamp stamped in Pear Pizzazz with AnnaBelle's green/white ribbon wrapped around and finished off with a button and cord detail.
The sentiment is added to this detail.  Three Pumpkin Sprinkles added, complete this little card.
Ready to go check in with  Kylie  I'm sure she has some inspiring projects for you.
AnnaBelle Stamps - February Release - Easter Hope
Did you guess that Easter was the theme for AnnaBelle Stamps February release?
The Hop started at the AnnaBelle Blog so if you came here from Andrea's Blog you're on the right track.
Remember you have 24hours to leave a comment at each stop to be in the draw to win today's set.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Today's set is called Easter Hope and as you can see it's a great mix of sentiments along with three beautiful images.

My first card uses the larger of the Tulips which I coloured using Prisma Pencils and OMS.  I've stamped the front petal twice to pop it up adding dimension. Hope you can see this!

I used a Spellbinder die to trace one side of the oval shape around the image and cut this out by hand. A couple of eyelets with some AnnaBelle natural cotton cord threaded through adds the sentiment tag which was  cut with another Spellbinder die.

Two rows of staggered scalloped card set with some AnnaBelle Sprinkles complete the front of this card.

My second card also uses the large Tulip but this time I clear embossed the image onto some Pearlized card for a very subtle effect.  IRL this looks so pretty as the light catches the clear embossing.

I used a corner punch on the green card. Die cut a tag for this lovely sentiment, which is stamped in SU Pear Pizzazz onto cream card to match the base card.  By punching single slots either end of the tag I could thread some AnnaBelle green striped ribbon through the sentiment and tie off to one side.
Just a couple of Sprinkles to balance this and I have a very CAS Easter Card.

Just one more to share and this one features Gold embossing.

I love this simple styled image and am pretty sure sponging will feature on some of the Belles and Bellas cards using this one!   Not me though ...... I kept this very clean and clear.

I've embossed the image onto Whisper White in Gold.  Then stamped the first part of the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black (masking Alleluia!). Gold Embossing Powder was used to stamp Alleluia onto a scrap of card, which I then cut to size and added to the card front with foam tape.
The image sits on a piece of Tan American Craft Card with some AnnaBelle Gold Cord wrapped around the bottom.
This is attached to a base of my favourite Mocha ribbed card with double sided tape.

OK....that's it for me today ..... it's time to go pay a visit to Kylie's Blog, I can't wait to see her beautiful creations with Easter Hope.

Don't forget to leave a comment on each of the stops along the Hop for your chance to win todays set.....You have just 24 hours.

Hope to see you tomorrow, AEST 12.00pm when we have another great little set to show you.

Valentine...

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hope you've all been given flowers, chocolates and best of all lots of attention!

I've been busy getting bits and pieces ready for the AnnaBelle Feb Release and a couple of other exciting things and realised I needed to make a card for the Boss...........

So here's my last Valentine Card for this year.  Lots and lots of hearts (not sure what he will think about all the pink though).

The Cuttlebug embossing folder I used is called Kimmy-Luvs (great name).
I stamped some white card using a SU Script stamp and inked and distressed the edges before adding an AnnaBelle Stamps sentiment.
The narrow hearts stamp is also from S U with the edges inked and adhered to some pink card it sits over a pink doily heart.

I left this card on the kitchen bench so he would see it before leaving for work, along with the wrapped chocolate heart I made for Friday's post.  When I walked into the kitchen I found a hand written note with a drawn heart on some yellow card........
Not a very romantic Valentine maybe........ but I'll keep it anyway!!!!
