HAPPY MOTHERS DAY....

Happy Mothers Day.... to all you mums out there, I hope your families spoil you rotten all day!

I know if anyone is looking in the UK you celebrated some time back. My Mum knows she has to wait for the Australian one with me these days, but that's good it means she gets two.

This is the card that I'm hoping, post allowing, is sitting on her fireplace this morning.

The layout for this card was a Stamp TV sketch challenge a while back and I've used it for a couple of cards, I really like it. The DP is from We R Memory Keepers double sided with one complete pattern on one side and on the other 4 x 6 inch squares of co-ordinating panels. What a great way to go for us card makers! I stamped the image from SU Fun and Fast Notes onto cream cardstock, coloured with copics and attached this to a plain circle followed by the scalloped circle both of which use Bazzill card. The sentiment is computer printed on this one (I really need more sentiment stamps don't I). I've mounted this on foam tape. To finish off just a couple of brads and some pretty ribbon.

I'm off to see the Dr today I think, this cold has turned into a terrible cough and with just five more sleeps before our holiday I'm starting to panic!!

Just one more T.S.& S. Card

I just had to add one last tall, slim and simple card to the group!

I've made this card for my Auntie in the UK it has to be in the mail on Monday.  Again its on Ivory Linen and I've used a couple of my nestabilities for the first time. I love them already. The pale blue and pale lemon cards  are from the SU soft subtles.

I stamped the basket of tulips from A Flower For All Seasons onto cream card and attached it to the blue and lemon circles with foam tape. The mounted image is sitting on a strip of pale lemon satin ribbon and I've attached a bow of the same to finish off.

Only six more sleeps before our trip to New Zealand - I hope by the time we leave I've finally got rid of this terrible cold! I've spent most of this week with my head buried in tissues. Shouldn't grumble though as it seems every other person in Sydney has it, so I'm not alone.

Just one card to show today and the story attached to this card is that a while ago I stumbled onto a blog called The Frugal Crafter. I found it quite interesting, bookmarked it and went back a few times. Then a week ago I bought a new pair of winter PJ's (yes we need them in Aus. in the winter!) and they had a colourful oval label with a piece of ribbon attached on them, along with the usual spare button! Much to my surprise I found myself carefully removing the label and ribbon and putting them aside.

Now here is my card - I've used the colours from the oval label as my colour scheme. So base card is from Bazzil, as is the punched lace card I'm going to call raspberry (?) The tissue paper is actually wrapping paper I've recycled! my little cupcake image from Penny Black is stamped in black onto cream card which I then punched. I layered the stamped image first onto the raspberry then my PJ label using the ribbon to tie a small bow on the front. To finish I stamped celebrate in black ink onto cream card . This is attached to the lace with two brads.

I think the Frugal Crafter got to me........... What do you think?

Today I had the first of two expected parcels from America. It has some of Gina K's Luxury Card Stock in it which I'm really looking forward to trying. My new stamps will be in the second one which I'm hoping will be with me on Monday. So next week I'll be madly getting ready to go away and also trying to make at least a couple of cards.

Blog Help!!!

Thanks for the help regarding my post problems. I did try changing the date and time in the 'post options' area as I was typing the post but it doesn't seem to have worked!!! I'll have one more try tonight then give up and just post on the day   ----   if you follow what I mean!!!

TALL SLIM AND SIMPLE........cards that is. Posted Fri. 8th

Yesterday my 'nesties' arrived in the mail along with the cuttlebug embossing folders I had ordered. It didn't take me too long to get them open and start playing with them, what fun.  I have to come up will a way of storing them now!

As I  mentioned in yesterdays post I was having trouble changing the post date when I write the post up the evening before posting. Thanks Kathy for your email I think you might be right, this evening as I'm typing this I have put in tomorrows date so hope that works.

Today I want to show you two tall, slim and simple cards I've made and really love.  I picked up a pack of A5 Ivory Linen Cards  (300gsm) at the week-end and I really like them.  I folded them in half to take advantage of the 81/4" length, so tall and slim. I wanted a very plain sentiment right at the bottom of these cards so printed this from the computer first.

On this first card I have stamped on to cream card the image from SU A Flower For All Seasons. Coloured it with my Copics and then cut it out.  I layered this onto a SU scolloped circle of pale green which I pierced.  What this picture doesn't really show is that the base of the basket sits flat against the card while the tulips are held off the card with a dot of foam tape.

The second card started out just the same only this time I decorated it with a pale lemon circle cut with the Pazzles (actually it's the centre I took out to make another card). I stamped a butterfly from the Hampton Arts Clear Stamp set with Almost Amethyst, cut it out and added some fine glitter.  I know you can't see it in this picture, I'm not very good with glitter but believe me its sitting next to me know and the light just catches it so its very pretty. The butterfly is mounted with foam tape onto a  paper shapers decorative swirl.

So, how simple was that? 

This is my take on  CAS cards. I think I should add a 'T' for tall (now how ironic is that!) I like them hope you do too....

BLOG HELP!!!

OK I give up!!!!

If anyone can tell me how I can change the date that appears ahead of a post I would be very grateful!

I type up the details of my post the night before  and it keeps this date and time when I post the following morning.  I've tried going to POST OPTIONS and changing those with no luck. What am I doing wrong.  I've checked help and the forum - no help there!

 I entered another challenge yesterday over at Splitcoaststampers.  I've been a member there for a while, (actually before I  made a card) but have only just started to add cards to my gallery (this being the third!).

I'm a bit nervous adding my cards to the fantastic mix over there.  My husband likes my cards - bless him!! but will anyone else?  My Dad would have said  'you won't know if you don't try', so I've entered this challenge and posted a couple of other cards - its a start.

This card is another of the Naive Flower Stamps from Hampton Art Clear Stamp.

I started with a cream card followed by riding hood red. Then I layered the DP which is a Basic Grey. 

I've taken a small panel of textured pale lemon card which I pierced. Then wrapped pale lemon satin ribbon dressed with an antique copper swirl and attached this to the card.

 The stamped image is on the same cream card, also pierced in opposite corners. This I attached to riding hood red, which was punched with a Fiskars border punch. I've used foam tape to attach this to the card. 

I've made a couple of cards that I will post on Friday - I love them they are tall, slim and simple!!! 

One of my 'Cyber' friends Betty sent me a message asking for prayers for her little granddaughter who had an accident. She caught her finger in a gate and lost the tip of it including the nail, poor lamb. The ER had attempted to attach her finger and we're all praying that this will work for her. I'm holding her in my thoughts, would you please,
