Dad and Me!!!

The Roses challenge for January was set by the lovely Betty who wanted us to use a childhood photo on our project somewhere!

Oh dear......here goes!

My Dad would have been celebrating his 91st Birthday early in February had he been with us still, so I thought it was appropriate to use this photo of him holding me.

I printed some retro paper for this card, it's so pretty and I love the stripes and the pale blue.
Some lace, seam binding over a punched edge have been added too.
I punched three blossoms to match the dp and added three AnnaBelle Sprinkles to complete.

Please, if you have a moment click on the Roses links in the left side bar to check out the girls projects.

See you soon!

A Challenge - Merci!

Hello Blogger's,

Well it started a bit cooler here today..... ahead of another hot day tomorrow!
Yesterday I downloaded some digital paper from Pink Petticoat a fabulous on-line store in Cornwall, UK.
I've been a frequent visitor but for the first time I actually made a purchase!
Love all the paper they have but the download in my area is pretty slow and takes a huge part of my monthly download limit........Painful!
  They will make up CD's and DVD's for their UK customers only though, so am working on how I could make that work for me!

Inspired by the cream polka dot I  printed  onto some SU whisper white card I made the following card:

This card was made for the Flourish CAS challenge at SCS. This label is from an Inkadinkado Clear Stamps set I've owned for a while and never used!

Brenda's Clean and Simple Sunday Challenge #5 was the layout I used.

I cut some whisper white card using the PI for the curly shape.
Stamped the label and a sentiment (Waltzingmouse) in SU close to cocoa.
Then sponged with Versa Color sand beige.

Using strong tape I pleated some cream seam binding over the DP and the label sits over this popped up with foam dots.
To complete the card I added some AnnaBelle Stamps Sprinkles

OK off for a swim, the sun came out around lunch time and it's quite warm now.
Hope you're all ready for a relaxing week end.
See you soon.

Flowers For You.

Friday is challenge day at AnnaBelle Stamps and this week we have our Sketch and Bling Challenge.
Here's the sketch......hope you'll play along with us this month for the chance to win a Aus $20 shopping with AnnaBelle Stamps.
Andrea has added lots of yummy new stock too, so the perfect time to stock up!

For my card I picked Lil Molly's Flowers .

Some light sponging, faux stitching,satin ribbon and for my bling I chose Annabelle's pearls.
I've added a heart slide to my ribbon which qualifies this card for Really Reasonable Ribbon's challenge#16.
The sentiment stamped in Memento London Fog and tied to the ribbon slide with some AnnaBelle's white hemp.

The challenge at CR84FN #12 is to use light pink, lavender and kraft.
These colours were chosen for my card too.

Hope you'll play along again this week.........it's been great seeing all your beautiful creations over the past four weeks.  Why not go and check out the Belle's and Bella's cards..........links are in the side bar!

Thanks for calling past........... see you soon.

Tag ........ you're it!

After one of the hottest Australia Day's I can remember I'm feeling just a bit limp and wilted!!!!
The pool was the place to be yesterday so not much crafting done.
I do have a tag I made for Joan's Tag Challenge here.
I promised myself I would try and enter more challenges this year and I am trying but with visitors in the house it's not easy!!!

I used the CPS # 202  layout for my tag.

Stamp is from AnnaBelle Stamps All Things Grow.
I started with an ordinary packing tag which I sponged before layering the card.
I punched the outside butterflies using a Martha Stewart Punch.
The centre one is a double mount from the same ABS clear stamp set, coloured with Copics and cut out.
A small drop pearl was added to each butterfly.
Distressed seam binding tied in a bow and set with a flower and punched swirl complete the tag.

 Thanks for taking the time to drop by today........I'll see you soon.....

Sassy Valentine Book Card.

Hi Blogger's......

I was thrilled to receive a message from Cheryl Ager of Sassy Cheryl's Digital Stamps, asking if I would like to be one of her featured SASSY FRIENDS!    What an honour ....... I love Cheryl's digital illustrations. I bought my first one the 'Country Girl' from Squigglefly ages ago and I've added quite a few since then..........But hang on a moment.... who do I follow........
OMG..... MARLENE!!!!!  She's a hoot.......what an act to follow, give yourself a treat if you haven't paid her blog a visit yet ........ but be warned, you might blush!
I can't compete with her chat so I'll just get on with my project.

Thanks so much Cheryl, I had such fun making my Sassy Valentine Book Card using your
 Beary Valentine Stamp.

The Valentine Bear was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out to sit popped up over the red glittery heart.

 I used my Pazzles Inspiration to cut the large heart and the swirly heart overlay which sits over more glittery card.

You can see from the side the folded card that makes up The 'pages' of this book . Using the PI to cut dash lines makes the folding very easy though you could do the same with a Scor-Pal.

With the book open you can see the recess for a small gift or just a sentiment.  I've added two chocolate hearts wrapped in stamped tissue paper.
The inside of the book has been kept very simple with a layer of red card followed by some co-ordinating dp
A small pocket holds a gift card  which is where I've added a written message.

This project is made in three stages:

1. The folded square, which represents the pages. I punched a lace edge on the top fold of mine.
2. The card shape made with a spine wide enough to cover the depth of the pages. Again I punched the lace edge back and front.
3. Glue the folded square to the back page of the card shape, lining up the spine and decorate!

To close my book card I added some distressed seam binding as well as some linen threaded hearts.

I have to tell you I was inspired to make my book card by seeing this beautiful one made by Tina. Check out the link if you want to try one for yourself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
My second card uses an illustration Cheryl very kindly donated to Jak Heath's apeal for Katie Renz.
How cute is this l'il dude setting of for a spot of fishing...... I've dressed him in green with some DP from  Basic Grey's origins paper pad.   The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.   Click on the link to find out how you can help Katie and her family. Thanks.
Thanks for calling past today and thanks again Cheryl.
See you soon.
AnnaBelle Stamp - Say It With ..... Emboss Resist.
I'm so glad you could call past today, we have a fun AnnaBelle Stamps Challenge for you and some wonderful new design team members to introduce.  I should say Belles and Bellas......from now on, we have Liz and Kerry, our Bellas, who will be bringing lots of inspirational cards to the gallery to get you inspired.
You will also meet two new Belles, Lisa and Sue K. The DT Links have been updated so check the left hand side bar and go say hello to the girls.......we're looking forward to getting to know them all and seeing their beautiful work.
On to this weeks Challenge which is Emboss Resist.  If you've never tried it here's a link to a tutorial.
Be warned it's addictive!!!
This was my first card....I cut a heart shape on the Pazzles Inspiration then clear embossed 'with love' from 'Hooo Loves Christmas' across it.  Sponging the entire surface with a little extra around the edges!
I dressed mine up with a punched petal, set with one of AnnaBelle's Cherry Sprinkles
I've been playing with fabric and felt in my spare time
 check out the Suffolk Puff or Yoyo.
A heart pin holds this to the pinked gingham fabric square.
 AnnaBelle's red/white striped ribbon tied a soft bow and this card is just the ticket for this weeks CAS challenge over at SCS!
~~~~~~

Did I mention this is addictive?
Here's a peek at my second card.....check out the ribbon!  It's NEW in the store and it ties the best bows.......no gadgets this was tied by hand!!

OK here's the card ......... This time I embossed the flowers from 'Stemmed Flowers' with white embossing powder and sponged with two colours of blue ink.

Each of the embossed flowers is set with a tiny pink gem from the Pink Petals Kit.

~~~~~~
So why not get your embossing powder and sponges out.....play along with us again this week.  You could be the randomly picked winner of a Aus$20 shopping trip to AnnaBelle Stamps on-line store!!!
Don't forget, use your AnnaBelle Stamps and add your card to the gallery and you could win another prize.
Need more inspiration?  Go check out the Belles and Bellas!!!!
See you soon.
All Things Grow - CR84FN11
I've been itching to have a play with Mona's Challenge......Look at the inspirational picture...It has all the little things I love, stitching, cottons, ribbons and tapes yum!
I couldn't resist using the January released set All Things Grow, from AnnaBelle Stamps. The elegant grasses and pretty butterflies are lovely to stamp.
I've added one of my crocheted ecru five petal flowers and instead of cutting off the end I wrapped it around the scalloped card.......love how that looks!
Some sponging, distressing and a double stamped butterfly popped up on some foam and I have another Birthday card ready for this year........whoopee!!
Please, please, if you can!!!!
Hello Blogger's
At the start of the year I mentioned in my blog post that we should all spare a thought for those who had a very uncertain start to the new year.  I had one person in mind, I didn't name her but would like you to go to this link to read about Katie. Katie is one of us, a card maker who received life changing news.
Please if you can, join in the fund raising for her and her young family. If it's difficult for you just now, keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.
