Hello,
Are you ready for the Scrapbook Boutique June Blog Hop and Inspirational Challenge?
The Hop starts and ends at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog. If you're following along you should have arrived from Sue K's blog and when you leave me you hop over to Therese's Blog.
The hop is open for one week, closing at midday Sunday17th June.
Unfortunately the blog hop prize (and the inspiration challenge) are only open to anyone with an Australian mailing address.
Evelyn has picked another fabulous stamp set as the Blog Hop prize this month - Darkroom Door's Butterfly Garden Ooh the things you could do with this beautiful collage stamp :)
Make a project using the following picture as your inspiration and "make it fit for a princess" You could be the winner of a $30 gift voucher for Scrapbook Boutique.
(Link your project on the SB Blog before 30/6/12)
Here's mine this month......my first side step card.......I know, where have I been :)
My Favourite Things - All dressed up Jolinne coloured with Prisma's. Some paper piecing, stitching, pearls, die cut flowers, swirls and butterfly I hope, make this card fit for a Princess.
Trim Blue card base to 8.5" x 4.5" cut, score and fold to make the side step base card.
Stamp image to smooth white card using Memento tuxedo black ink. Colour image with Prisma Pencils. (I masked and stamped the body a second time to some dp, hand cut then paper pieced the top of her dress.)
Stamp sentiment to smooth white card using Versafine Onyx black ink. Die cut with small circle die.
Trim a selection of dp to add one layer over the image panel and the three side steps. Adhere the side steps into position ready to decorate.
To the image panel wrap some hand dyed seam binding and tie to the left side in a bow adding a button with white cord. (I used Ranger's broken China spritzed with water to die my ribbon.)
Adhere the coloured image to the main panel and using a sewing machine threaded with yellow cotton, machine around all four sides (keeping the ribbon bow away from the sewing needle:)). Adhere this to the base card.
From Blue card die cut the following:
Die-namics - Fancy Flourish
Memory Box - Kaleidoscope Butterfly - (Body only)
Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Fleur De Lis Accents - Fancy round tag. (Trim off the bottom Flourish for the crown)
From DP Lilybeedesign Buttercup cut the following:
CC Designs - Phlox Flowers - 3 x 3 layer petals and 2 x 2 layer petals.
Memory Box - Kaleidoscope Butterfly - Butterfly wings.
Assemble the three phlox flowers, adding a pearl to the centre of each.
Trim the flourish to adhere some to the first and second steps. Add two assembled flowers to the first step with the remaining flower to the second step.
Add the sentiment to the trimmed fancy tag and adhere this to the third step.
Decorate the crown with pearls and add to image. Finally adhere the butterfly body to it's wings and position to the edge of main panel.
Hope you can join us again this month........Til next time.............
