My Simple Calendar..... at last

Hi Blogger's,

So sorry ....... I said I'd post this on Wednesday and got so excited with the Wedding Anniversary cards and my new found 'skills', (she says with tongue in cheek!) with Elements, that I was just to exhausted to type it up!!!!!!! So, despite saying I'd only post twice a week, Monday for TMITA and Wednesday, here I am on Friday with the first two pages of my simple calendar.
I've starting using this one, you might notice all the little stickers.
I know there are a few grid sets out there you can buy to do this, GKD has a great one you can stamp or a digital down loadable one and it comes with lots of small stamps to dress up your calendar. I have no patience though, and just hit the web to download a calendar, there are plenty there, instant! Here is the link to mine.

I liked the layout of this one and it came in png. format so I was able to play with it in Photoshop Elements (haha). All I've added are family and friends Birthdays etc. but you could, if you wanted add pictures to the date blocks. I'll have a play and add one somewhere along the line. Once I had all the birthday's in place I clicked the print button then added the border to the grid, making sure the grid printed at the bottom of an A4 piece of white card.

The white card was then trimmed to my required size allowing 4.25" at the top to decorate. I had this gorgeous image of 'Baby Bella and Bronte' from Mo Manning that I wanted to use. As it's a digital one I could have added it to print out at the same time as my grid. That would have made it even more 'simple', but I wanted to add some colour and ribbon so it was sized on the computer and printed onto another piece of white card.

I used my Copics to colour and added some sparkle with KindyGlitz. The image was matted to a scrap of pale lemon card. I've tied some ribbon around the grey dot from a SU paper pad and attached this to the white card before adding the image, which was attached using foam dots.
The completed page was mounted onto a sheet of trimmed A4 pale yellow card.

Recipe:
Digital Image - Mo Manning
Card: White and pale lemon craft card. DP SU 6x6 paper pad
Embellishments: Green ribbon Martha Stewart
Other: Copic Markers and Kindy Glitz.

Here's February's page:

Made just the same but using the heart stamp from SU Polka Dot Punches. I've stamped them twice on white card and cut one out. The second one was cut using a Spellbinder circle die and matted to a scalloped circle of red dp. I've used some fine foam tabs to pop up the first heart which sits just outside the circle. Three heart brads complete the decoration for February.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Polka Dot Punches.
Ink: Versa Color - Cardinal.
Card:White and Pale Lemon Craft Card. DP My Memories - stripe. Kaisercraft - Candy.
Embellishments: 2 red 1 gold heart brads from my stash.

My pages are clipped to a hand painted clipboard that hangs near the phone in my kitchen and I printed a small one that sits on my work desk (just the grid). If you're interested in the little stickers I've used, you can find info at www.kikki-k.com.au these shops are popping up around Sydney.... Aladdin's cave for stationary lovers!!!

I'll be showing more pages in the coming weeks and hope you might be inspired to have a go yourself. If you do, let me know so I can see your lovely work.

I'll be back on Monday with TMITA plus I have a pretty 'Welcome Baby Girl' card I'm dying to show you........Hope you'll come back.

Till then.......have a great week end............stay warm all you American and British blogger's!

Have a Great Holiday Betty!!
