While gale force winds blew, rattling the windows and sending dead branches from gum trees flying through the air ...... I sat playing with paper. It was quite a day in Sydney yesterday! .... windy weather unsettles me , not sure why, but it always has. Perhaps that's why I struggled with todays card. Or was it because I was making one card for two challenges .... Anyway, I've named this 'A Little French Fancy' and it's my card for this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge # 13 also Joan's Gardens Challenge # 13 . Oh my goodness .... both 13 could that be it?
Joan's challenge was to use purple, a pendant die , cut a flower and colour it and to use a punched border.
So lots of sponging, layers and sewing. The corner details were stamped twice, if you can make that out. Why? because I thought it worked with the two tone dp .... and I didn't like the first colour perfect plum on its own!
WMS Victorian Frippery was the set I used for the corners and sentiment. The flowers, cut from a blossom die and a small five petal punch, have been sponged to colour them.
Spellbinders Labels 9, Blossom, circle and Fleur De Lis dies were all used as well as three punches ..... you should have seen my work space!!! I think it might take me as long, if not longer to list all the bits I used ....... and I have to say I'm still not too sure about this one.
Till next time...... thinking about all you Victorians with flood alerts .... and the good people of Christchurch, New Zealand. x
