It's a doily kinda day......Green, Brown and Ivory - CAS168

Good morning, good morning..........

There's another good thing about where we live now..... want to know what it is?  The post man rides his motor bike past our house then doubles back delivering the mail.  So I  hear him approach and can see if he leaves anything in the mail box :)   In Sydney the mail box was way up the top of the drive....I can't tell you how often I'd walk up there several times a day if I was expecting some goodies.
It's the small things  such as this make me smile.  Oh and the little wagtail who comes to visit most mornings. Hoping about on the wire of the balcony rail.......so sweet!

I received some new stamps in the mail yesterday all the way from the UK and they took just 6 days to arrive.........how good is that?  I was expecting to have to wait a little longer living outside Sydney but (touch wood) not so far. Perhaps Mum will get her Australian Mother's Day card in time after all :)

Enough chat.... here's what I whipped up with a couple of the new sets from the lovely Beverley at Uniko Studio.   I used Decorative Doilies - THE HANDS OF TIME  a quite modern version of a doily or medallion, I think. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday, lots of words to mix and match here, in great fonts too.

I've used the CAS168 challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers for this card. The challenge called for Green, Brown and White or Ivory.

I masked and sponged a one inch strip using Rangers distress inks in Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters, Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap. Stamping a selection of the doily shapes and the sentiment in the same inks.

Hang on here's a second card using the same sets.......I know two cards in one post ....whatever next!

For this one I stamped the largest doily using VersaMark to a pale plum card. Punching out opposite corners  with the Something Old Something New corner punch from Fiskars.  Then I randomly stamped a selection of the small images to some white hammered card using Memento Lulu Lavender ink. Again punching out opposite corners. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Sweet Plum before I added a few tiny KaiserKraft pearls. Some Lavender fine twine wrapped and finished with a button, both from AnnaBelle Stamps, were added  before adhering to the card base with foam tabs.

I'm back tomorrow with AnnaBelle's challenge for this week. Hope you can make time to pop past.
Till then..........
