Heartfelt Creations - Butterfly Garden Gift Box

Welcome to the next round of projects using Heartfelt Creations Botanical Garden Collection. If you've arrived here from the H.C. blog thank you so much for calling past. I'm sharing two of my projects today with 2 more on Thursday. I hope you'll take a moment to check in with the rest of the girls who make up the Design Team......Links under the DT tab at the top of my page.

My 1st project is a gift box which is a simply constructed square box with the addition of a firmer base and top. I've also added a clear centre which involves lining up circle die cuts on three layers.  The instructions as always have been added for those who want to try one and I'm happy to answer questions....just email me.

5 x 5 inches square.

                          Spellbinders Fanciful Flight Die
                          Spellbinders Large Circle Die
                          8.5 x 11 Clear Card stock
Other Products:
American Craft Card – pale green, dark green and scraps of glittered card for the butterflies.
DSP - Pink Paislee – Butterfly Garden Collection, Kaisercraft – Cappella,
Prima Fairy Flora 6 x 6 paper pad. Cereal Box or stiff card.
Inks: Memento bamboo Leaves, SU Apricot Appeal, VersaMagic Cloud white chalk ink.
AnnaBelle’s Sprinkles in 4mm artichoke and peach. White lace, Green ribbon and LSS flower centres in Apricot.
Zip Dry Glue and Dries Clear adhesive. ScorPal. Corner rounder.

1. From the stiff card or cereal box cut 2 5” squares and round all corners.
2. From Fairy Flora dsp cut 2 5” squares and round the corners.
3. The box is a basic box construction. So from a 7.5” square of pale green card score at 1.5” and 6”. Turn and score again 1.5 and 6”. Then you need to cut once at each corner to the score line (4 cuts total) to fold in one edge to form the box. Adhere to hold. This gives you a 4.5-inch box.
4. For the lid start with a 7-5/8” square of pale green card and score at 1.5 and 6-1/8”. (Making the lid a little larger for an easy fit.) Make the corner cuts the same as before but before glue is added line up the pale green box centre with the top dsp and the thick card to die cut the centre cut out. Cut!! Fold and adhere the side to make to box lid.
5. Cut a piece of Clear Card stock 4.5 inches square.
6. Centre and adhere the pale green card base to the thick card/cereal box make sure the dsp is facing up.
7. For the lid start with the pale green lid then layer the thick card then the clear card stock with the dsp as the top layer.
8. To decorate the box cut 2 x 1.25 “ strips from a 12x12 piece of dsp. Join to make it long enough to fit around all four sides. Adhere to sides of lid. Layer a length of ribbon and some lace and adhere these to the sides of the lid. Tie a double looped bow and add to the centre.
9. Chalk around the outside edge of the lid.
10. Stamp two flowers from HCPC 3406 to the Pink Paislee dsp using apricot appeal ink. Stamp 4 sets of leaves from HCPC 3405 to dark green card using bamboo leaves ink. With the matching dies cut out the leaves and flowers. Sponge the edges of all the petals in apricot appeal and chalk the edges of the leaves in white chalk ink.
11. Shape and form the flowers using dries clear to hold the layers together. Add the flower centre to each.
12. Arrange two sets of leaves in opposite corners of the lid, adhere and add the completed flower to each corner.
13. Punch 2 butterflies from Fanciful flight, sponge with apricot appeal and add 3 peach Sprinkles to the body of each. Add these to the lid using Dries clear to adhere.
14. Add 5 artichoke Sprinkles to each of the two remaining corners to complete.

2.     Using an oval die cut and emboss the image. Sponge the edge with apricot appeal ink.
3.     Die cut a scalloped oval from Apricot card and adhere behind the coloured image.
4.     Add the single flower to the front of the image using Zip Dry glue.
5.     To the centre of the flowers add AnnaBelle gems.
6.     Trim Apricot Card to 5-3/8” square and to this adhere the Lemonade dsp.
