Waltzingmouse Sketch #53

I had time to play yesterday before the July rush so spent some time making up a few frames and embellishments just for fun.  It seems ages since I did that.....  got to tell you it was so relaxing sitting looking out into the sunshine.....yep two days of warmer weather here in Sydney ....life's good!

I haven't played in the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for a while either so I went looking today and made a CAS card to enter.

Here's the sketch # 53:

Here's my card:

I printed the Pink Petticoat dp 'Pretty Little Hearts' to some ABS white smooth card to make the card base. WMS  'Vintage Label 18' in VersaColor crimson ink on more smooth white card with a sentiment from WMS 'Fancy Phrases'. Then popped the label up with foam mounting tape over three lengths of lace and ribbon. I couldn't resist adding and ABS red heart to finish off..............

Thanks for taking the time today and hope you'll call past tomorrow for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday showcase.  Till then.......................

Anything But A Card.......

Morning Blogger's.................Kerrie got to pick our Roses Challenge for June and she asked for anything but a card and she wanted some flowers.
Now I got a sneak peek at Olga's project and I have to tell you it's pretty amazing ......you'll want to check it out.
For me.......well I left it a bit last minute this month ...... sorry Kerrie!  Though saying this I have a little project to share and some info that some of you might enjoy.........though you'll need to be quick!!!!

Here's a cute little notebook and pen set I picked up for $1 . It measures 3.5 x 4.5 inches so perfect for your handbag or just to keep by the computer.  I wasn't that impressed with the front page but a scrap of Webster's Pages and a little stamped label made a big difference.  The flower, while not a great idea for a handbag note pad made it perfect for the challenge.

Last night I opened a Jessica Sprague email and read about her 4th Birthday Blog Hop. Anyone who enjoys digital scrapbooking would love this hop. 47 of her fabulous designing friends each share a project or layout for FREE download. Now I'd love to get into digital scrapbooking .....one day! so enjoy looking through checking out all the possibilities.   Well I found this little gift bag designed ready to print and cut designed by Monica Lifferth (stop no 38....how clever without going all the way back through the hop I can't link directly to Monica's Blog! Sorry I have tried to find her through Google.....if anyone knows let me know so I can make it right....please).  It was just perfect to pop the little notebook into.
I added some ribbon for added dimension only and used a little yo-yo flower pegged to close the bag.

So there you have it, another month of challenges completed, thanks Kerrie for something a bit different. I'm off to check see if any of the other entries are up yet............you know the links are at the top of my page ...... under Roses **wink**.

Hope you're all enjoying a great week end with plenty of sunshine!  The weatherman says it's going to reach 21c degrees today in Sydney.........hope he's right!

Till next time.......

Edit/
Thanks Theresa for the link to Monica's Blog. I've added it now.

ABSSC 039

Hi Blogger's,

It's time for this month's  AnnaBelle Stamps Sketch Challenge. Andrea has made a couple of small changes to the guidelines, there will now be a prize for the sketch challenge winner and Blinkie awards for the weekly Say It In and Say It With challenge winners. Read the new guidelines at the bottom of this post.

I've used 'Lil Michelle Swinging By' along with 'BBD#3' for my card  and because I'm having trouble getting back into a routine, I thought I'd play along with a colour challenge.

I've used the colours for this weeks challenge at  Our Creative Corner for my card.  How cool is this combo?

This is a 4.25 x 5.5 top fold card with a white base. I've layered Soft Suede and my pink (closest I had!). Strips of Rich Razzleberry - stamped in VersaMark and white chalk ink using BBD#3. Pink dsp from DCWV the Mariposa Matstack. With Baja Breeze which I stamped first with another of the backgrounds from BBD#3 then embossed using Crafts Concepts 'Dragonfly' embossing folder. Straight stitch and zigzag stitch around this layer adds some interest.

Lil Michelle is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto ABS White card, which is fabulous to use as layering card for Copic markers.   I've corner punched this card using a Fiskars corner squeeze punch called 'something old something new' before wrapping some AnnaBelle Stamps silver cord across the bottom. The image is attached to the card with foam mounting tape. To complete the sketch I punched 6 little petals with an EK Success Punch and finished them with a tiny AnnaBelle metallic Sprinkle.

Today we welcome our July Guest designer and I'm so pleased to see Betty who plays along with us regularly.  Please follow the link and go check out her project along with all the Belles.  DT's links are at the top of my page *wink*.

Thanks for calling past this week, hope you have a great week end planned.  I'm just hoping for some warmer weather!!!!!

Till next time......

Tulips .....

Bula Blogger's,

I'm having a hard time settling back after our trip to Fiji..... can you tell?   It hasn't helped that the weather is quite cold here at the moment but I shouldn't complain.... it's dry!!!

I didn't take lots of pictures this trip though the beautiful sunsets were hard to resist......I snapped off a couple of reasonable shots so will share.

This second one was taken from the balcony off our room.

Walshie and I spent a bit of time on those sunbeds moving around the palms for some shade!  Oh I want to go back............

OK enough.........I wanted to share a little card today. I made this one some time ago and  it's sitting on a shelf in my room so I can admire it.......I love the colours and these tulips remind me of Spring.

This is another set from AnnaBelle Stamps Mother's Day Bouquet.  I paper pieced the vase with some ABS digital paper . The tulips are coloured with Prisma's and OMS.  I've framed them with a second ABS set  called  'All Squared'.The cream card is a linen effect and I've sponged the edges to soften it layered over  SU Peach Parfait. A strip of the same card breaks up the lovely textured brown card (also AnnaBelle) with  just  3 Pumpkin Sprinkles to complete the card.

Well it's been fun coming in for a chat........I'm way behind visits to every one's blogs but hang in there.....I'll get caught up and back into the swing of things soon.........I hope!

Thanks for dropping by and I see I have some new followers......G'Day!!! (Oh that doesn't sound like me at all ....!!) I hope you'll find a few things here you'll enjoy.  Keep an eye on the Tutorials button at the top of my page I'll try and add a few links for interesting finds like the Wedding Shoe Favor (got it right this time!) box.......that way they're all together and easy to find.

Hope you'll call back tomorrow for AnnaBelle Stamps Sketch Challenge....we have some news to share ....oh and don't forget the SALE!!!!! So many bargains over at AnnaBelle at the moment..........

Till tomorrow...........
