Uniko Studio - Joyful Butterfly.

Oooh hello Blogger's.............things are pretty quite around here.  Sorry the old blog has really taken a back seat these past few weeks.  The house has pretty much taken over my time, still we are coming along......gone are most of the 'wild' colours with the furniture back in place.  I thought I had the window covering sorted for the lounge and master bedroom only to receive a quote of $20,000 + !!!!!  After I picked myself up of the floor if was back to the drawing board, a little disappointed but determined to find an alternative.  Happy to report that I've found just about the same for less than half the price (truly) and as of today they are on order... yeah!!!!

The focus for the past week has been to pick tiles for the en-suite bathroom that Walshie and I both like :) Not easy......not too girly (shame) or too stark for the boss!   Think....hope...we might have that taken care of today too........Just as well, I don't think I could have faced another round of the same 3 tile shops.

Today's Card.......

I had a productive day yesterday making a few cards ready for up coming challenges.  I also had a play with some UNIKO STUDIO Digital papers and images.  Have you checked out the site in the UK? New, with some lovely clear stamp sets but also some matching digital papers and now Beverley has added some digital images too.  If you're at all interested go take a look as Beverley has a great  50% off SALE running at the moment making it a great time to try  new supplies.  These pretty papers are great to have on the computer ready to print out and the colours are made to match up with SU card stock.......clever!!!

My card uses both digital papers and a beautiful digital butterfly from the set 'Joyful Butterfly'.  I've created a card  blank in a word document and added the tiles (see it's all about tiles with me at the moment :)) of four of the papers with the butterfly image sized down to fit the card front. The sentiment is computer generated too and once printed I trimmed it to sit on a blue card base.  This would be a great way to produce multiple one layer cards really quickly.  I'm thinking change of address,  invitations or thank you cards.

For more inspiration go check the blog HERE.

See you tomorrow, I hope.......it's AnnaBelle Stamps Challenge day.................

The Roses Challenge for May

...........I'm just scraping in with my card for this month's Roses Challenge which is meant to post the last Sunday of each month.  It was Betty's turn to pick the challenge this month and she chose a colour challenge for us.

Now see the last colour on the right......The hall in this house was painted that very colour.  The master bedroom (which is yet to be changed and as yet remains unoccupied) is also this shade with  some pink thrown in for good measure!!!  See the first colour? well that's a bit more me :)  Oh Betty you made me laugh out loud with your challenge!!

Here's what I came up with and Betty I hope you approve.....

For this CAS card I've sponged.......(yep I keep trying with my sponges) three stripes using different shades of mauve. Between the stripes I stamped this pretty border from Waltzingmouse Stamps Florentine Frippery. The label is also a WMS image from Vintage Labels 25 cut with a Spellbinder die and popped up on foam tabs.  Some pretty ribbon and job done!

I hope you'll go see what these very talented ladies have come up with for the challenge this month. The links can be found under The Roses tab at the top of my blog page.

Hope you've enjoyed a good week end with some sunshine.  It's been glorious here and I'm pleased to say we're tidy again after the painters worked wonders in just over a week!  I even managed to unpack my 'good' china into the sideboard.  The search for  tiles for the en-suite is now on and it's a challenge trying to find something both Ian and I agree on :).  Wish me luck!!!!

Scrapbook Boutique - My Little Sunshine

Today I'm sharing another card made with products from Scrapbook Boutique an Australian on-line store packed with goodies for all your Scrapbook pages and Card making.

I've used Pinkpaislee Prairie Hill clear stamps and matching DP from the 6 x 6 petite paper pack for today's card.  Hope you like this one.

Read on if you like to know how I made this one:) Links to the products used are listed below.

5” square top fold card.

1.     Trim, score and fold SBB smooth white card to make a 5-inch top fold card.
2.   On a piece of scrap copy paper measuring 4.75” draw a pattern for the ‘sun ray’ background. Number each piece and cut out.  This is the pattern for cutting the DP.  A Spellbinder die was used to cut the ‘sun’.
3.     Cut the DP and adhere to a piece of card measuring 4.75”.
4.     Use a clear atyou Spica pen to add some highlights to each paper join.
5.     Stamp the image in Memento Cantaloupe ink to smooth white card and cut by hand.
6.     Die cut two clouds from smooth white card using Die-namics Flat Bottom Cloud die.
7.     Arrange the clouds to the front of the card popping up the stamped image on 3D foam squares.
8.     Adhere the completed card front to the folded 5-inch base card.

Thanks for calling past today, I hope you're enjoying a relaxing week end.
See you soon..............

It's Sketch week at AnnaBelle Stamps

Hi Bloggers,

Yes.....Friday means AnnaBelle Stamps weekly challenge and this week (absc050)  it's a sketch....what do you think?   Might you play along with this one?

I kept very much to Andrea's sketch for my card this week using a pre folded card I bought .....way back when Walshie and I were in Washington!  The image from Whimsy Flowers was coloured with Prisma pencils, using the same soft colours as the stripes on the card.  I've shaded in a soft blue adding some dots for additional shading detail.

A Spellbinder M-Bossabilities folder (ES-006) So Trendy was used for the white panel. For the bling element I added three pearl hearts.

Take a look at the Belles cards for more inspiration this week, links are under the DT tab at the top of my page.

Thanks for calling past......

AnnaBelle Stamps Lil Monster's Balloon. ac073U

Come and play along with us this week as we use these gorgeous colours on our cards.
I've had a sneak peek at the Belle's cards all of which you will find on the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog.  Better still go visit with the girls.......links under the DT Tab at the top of my page:)

I had so much fun with Lil Monster's Balloon last week I've used the same image for this weeks card!
The good news is that Andrea will soon be adding a new line to the shop.....Can you guess?
AnnaBelle Stamps will be introducing DIES ...... yeah!!!!!

Our favourite Lil Monster's Balloon will have a die to match very soon now and it cuts BEAUtifully!
Here's a close up......

Keep watching the store .......they're coming very soon and we couldn't wait to share with you:)

My card using both the stamp and die also has an embossed panel that I inked before and after I ran the white card through the embossing machine.  Did you know the May challenge at Stamp, Embellish, Create was to 'Add Texture' to a project? There are so many ways to add texture, embossing is just one.  Hope you'll join in with this NEW monthly challenge too. There will be a prize so go check it out here.

I've coloured Lil Monster with a mixture of Copic's and Prisma's and double stacked the balloon using Helmars Scrap dots .

ABS double faced satin ribbon inApple Green and some Lime Sprinkles complete this one.

Edit:
Hope you can play along with us again this week, this Lil Monster is going out to one lucky winner.

Work is progressing in the 'Blue House'..........The tall hedges have been tamed, we're just hoping they survive the shock as they might be needed for shade come the Summer. A very pleasant Irish man did the deed and will be in charge of hedges and grass from now on! He brought me a present of some free range eggs when he called in today........I like!
The painters started on Tuesday, so Monday saw me packing things away again!!! We're looking a bit dusty but, it's good to see bright white ceilings. Goodbye to hot pink and mauve as the first coat of undercoat goes on the hall and second bedroom.
Not too keen on the being up and dressed by 7am I must say.... but the up-side is I get to hide out in my craft space.  Did I tell you I've moved Ian out of our shared office?  He now shares the big back room along with a wall of boxes, the spare TV, 2 TV chairs, a coffee table and a couple of headboards.......not too bad for him .....I think!

Have a great week end..........

Scrapbook Boutique - What's Up Buttercup........

Hiya Bloggers,

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums.....Hope you're being treated to a fun packed day! I think the beaches and parks will be busy here, as we enjoy this glorious Indian Summer.

I've a little card to share today for Scrapbook Boutique which features some clear stamps and matching DP from lilybee design called Buttercup.  These are photopolymer clear stamps and stamped beautifully!  The matching DP comes from a 6 x 6 inch pad so this was a super quick card to make.

I couldn't resist adding a Memory Box Kaleidoscope butterfly which I think would brighten any one's day.

You can find the directions over on the Scrapbook Boutique blog and the product list at the end of this post.

Thanks for calling past......see you soon.
