A promised share

Hello,

I thought today I'd share a few pages from my December Daily.  It's not quite complete, every now and then I add a little more embellishing......not really my thing so you won't see too much.

The thing I've enjoyed most has been taking the pictures then playing with them in editing software. Adding overlays and text is new to me.  I've lots to learn but already I can see a difference between the first shots I played with and those towards the end of the journal.

Anyway here are a few pages.

My front page. I've added  the handmade cards we received from around the world throughout my DD.  I always keep cards that have been made for us and this seemed like a great way to store them so we could see them whenever we flip through the DD.  Therese's card was perfect for this page I thought :)

I used Studio Calico's kit and I must say I like the size for storage. It  came with three sizes of clear pockets which worked well.

Some of my pages have lots of journaling  some are more photo busy :)

I took quite a few snapshots using my iphone one of them giving the local weather which I thought was quite interesting.

I've been working on making up some little pockets with the DSP I didn't use. I want to keep all the tickets and brochures of places we visited white away.  I have pockets that just contain sequins, with the tops stitched to hold them in place........I think that was as idea that came from Pinterest!

I really think I'll keep adding throughout the year.......every time I see a technique that is new to me and I like it .....I add it to my Journal :)

If you made it to this line .........yeah well done! There's no fun looking at other people holiday snaps is there?    Thanks for taking the time :-)

My Portable Copic Storage....

Hi Bloggers,

I've been looking around for a while for a container to hold my Copic Markers.  I wanted one I could pick up  and carry around with me.  Pinterest is full of ideas but none of them worked for me :( .

Lat week I was killing time waiting for Ian and walked into our local Howard Storage World and found just the thing!

This sturdy plastic basket measures approx. 8-3/4 x 13-1/4 inches. It has a good metal handle with plastic covering just where you place your hands to carry it. It's a good straight sided basket approx. 5" deep.

These plastic separators (from the same store) can be snapped to the required size and slot into each other to form the dividers.

This was such an inexpensive solution at under Aus$50......From memory the basket was $20 and the dividers $10.     PERFECT!

Sharing the love..............

Hello,

I'm a bit late posting a card for Valentines Day but thought I'd share the card I made for 'Walshie'.

I had some time to play with my Pazzles Inspiration.  The tag was designed and cut  adding the 'kissing' lines as faux stitching with the heart shapes as cut aways. Popped up over a scrap of embossed red card  with an AnnaBelle Stamps sentiment stamped in Memento rhubard ink, this was a super quick CAS card.

Today marks  day three of steady on and off rain in our area, which was much needed after a long hot spell. So saying it was exactly the same last year as I recall.

The UK have certainly had the worst winter for wet, windy weather that I can ever remember.  Not so cold but for all those poor people dealing with floods........my heart goes out to them!  I'm also keeping in mind the US.........snow and icy conditions! I've been looking at amazing pictures on Facebook.........Keep warm guys and if you have to travel take care!

It's great weather for crafters though, no need to feel guilty for sitting at our desks being creative.......Have you had a creative week end?

Stitching and Shopping fun.

Hi Bloggers,

I've been sewing!  My machines have been serviced so I'm enjoying the sound they make as they stitch for me.......it's a bit like purring!

I've finally made time for some new cushion covers for the chairs that sit out the front on the balcony.

A table cloth too, made from fabric I had in my stash, which is very satisfying!

I had to visit  our local (ish) craft store, Spotlight the other day.  It was in the middle of a re-vamp with piles of stuff being moved around. In fact there were probably more people moving product than there were people buying it.

Oh what fun though, they had bins full of amazing bargains......I couldn't resist adding a few to my basket.

Like this little LED rechargeable folding desk lamp for $10 which was half the sale price!  I bought us one each, his is black and mine is white.......perfect to use for close work, colouring or stitching and easy to carry when traveling.

I couldn't resist a couple of Amy Tangerine products:  A date stamp for $5 and these sweet little tags for $2

I also bagged a pack of 40 themed cards for Project Life......just under $5, fabulous!

I won't bore you with the household bits and bobs ......... well not here anyway!

I got so carried away I left the store, then remembered what I actually called in for....so had to go back........$7 for some stiffener to make fabric bag handles!  Another little sewing project yet to be started. The pretty fabric was bought on our last road trip, when we visited Yamba in northern NSW.

I do love sorting through the bargain bins..........how about you?

Here's my card which was inspired by all the Vintage Valentines cards I've seen on Pinterest of late!

  • Trim, score and fold black card to make the 4.25" x 5.5" top fold card.
  • Punch the bottom of the Geranium card and using a piercing tool pierce all four sides. Add to the card front.
  • Punch along the bottom of the DSP and adhere to the card front.
  • Die cut the Heart from Vanilla card and stamp the sentiment. Add above the DSP on a slight angle.
  • Die cut three Pinwheel posies from pinks and cream card. Shape the posies and add some Stickles to each for a little shine.
  • Punch the leaves (3 off) from green card. Arrange the leaves and posies to the card front to complete.

There are still lots of bargains available in the Scrapbook Boutique Store's Biggest ever SALE......just saying :)

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop.....................
