The Roses Challenge - Christmas In July

Good Morning,

It's the last Sunday of the month so that means it's time for The Roses Challenge. The lovely Connie picked Christmas in July for her challenge, I'm really looking forward to all the Christmas cards the girls will be sharing. If you want to check them all out you will find the links under The Roses tab at the top of my page.......Go say hello!

I think this is the first Christmas card I've made this year but I should start adding a few more.......it's getting ever closer!

My card uses a Waltzingmouse frame from the Holiday Labels No 14 set with a sentiment from Nutcracker Sweet which is another Waltzingmouse Christmas set.

Lots of dies on this little number.....Spellbinder Labels 14 (naturally) as well as the Rose Creations and foliage dies with a petite oval die for the sentiment. The pretty Doily die is from Cheery Lynn Dies.

There we are Connie, hope you like my Christmas in July card and thanks for getting me started!

Hope you're week end is going well.  We started ours well with a party to celebrate friends Golden Wedding Anniversary on Friday with Dinner and dancing.  Saturday was a lovely day here with plenty of sunshine so the garden is starting to dry out after all the rain.

I'll be back on Monday to share the Golden Wedding Anniversary card I made.  Tuesday is AnnaBelle Stamps 1st Blog Hop for August.  We get to show you a brand new set ..... it's a beauty and as always Andrea has a prize for one lucky person so come and join us!!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week end........

AnnaBelle Stamps Sketch Challenge # 40

Hello Blogger's,

Here's Andrea's sketch for this week, hope you'll play along with us for your chance of the prize.  You can see all the cards for this week at the  AnnaBelle Stamps Blog.

Here's my card featuring Lil Bee's Big Flowers.

I love red and chocolate together so used some of Andrea's Digital Daisies and gingham with American Craft red card.  A white gel pen added some faux stitching. Lil Bee was coloured with Copic markers and I popped the front flower up on a foam dot......love that shadow:).  Some AnnaBelle pearl hearts for my bling today  and with the sentiment clear embossed the card was finished.

I hope you'll go check in with the Belle's, you'll find links to all their blogs under the DT tab at the top of my page.  Today we say farewell to Kerry, I'll miss her beautiful cards here each week. Good luck Kerry hope all goes well for you.

I'm entering this crd in the  Make It Monday Challenge # 47

Hope you'll all have a great week end, catch you soon........

Trim and score bronze card to make a 5 x 5 inch card.
  1. Centre HCD 710 die on the front section of the bronze card, cut and emboss the opening.  Fold the card at the 5” score line.
  2.  From cream card die cut and emboss HCD 710. Sit this over the front opening on the card.
  3.  From the clear cardstock cut a piece to measure 4-7/8” square. Add a length of tape to the top and bottom with the Stix2 1/8” tape.  Add a few dots of Zip dry around the inside of the cream die cut shape. Adhere the clear cardstock to the front panel of the card from the inside.  This will hold the cream die cut border in place.

Heartfelt Creations

Hi Blogger's,

I've been trying to catch up on some cards so am running a little late with this post, so sorry.......but there are some awesome things happening very soon so make sure to keep in touch!!

Today I'm sharing a project from Heartfelt Creations you can see all this week's DT cards over at the Blog or if you'd like to visit with the girls that make up this amazing DT you'll find the links under the DT tab at the top of my page.

OK so one today and the second tomorrow........ These roses are such fun to make and with this one I hope you can see the pretty glimmer I added to the petals with glimmer mist.  I also made up an embossing folder to use one of the leaf shapes to create an embossed background......I so have to make more of these!

OK here are the details:

4.25 x 5.5 Top fold card.

HC Products:  HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley PreCut Set
HCPC 3406 Botanical Floral 1 PreCut Set
HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set
HCPC 3388 Spring Cardinals PreCut Set (Sentiment)
HCD 713 Decorative lace border die
                        Spellbinder Shapeabilities Foliage die
                        Spellbinders Rose Creations die

Other:           Cason cream card, Romanprint Ivory. American Crafts green card, Webster’s Pages dsp. scraps of Pink Paislee dsp for the rose.
Inks: Memento tuxedo black and bamboo leaves. s.e.i. coral chalk ink.
AnnaBelle peach Sprinkles, Tattered Angels glimmer mist – iridescent gold. Cream rayon ribbon.  Fiskars something old something new corner punch. Zip Dry glue, dries clear adhesive and foam mounting tape. ScoPal, Spellbinders Labels 14 dieGrand Calibur.

Instructions:
I’ve used a small leaf from the Foliage set to create an embossing pattern for my peach dsp. Here’s how: Cut some standard card the size to suit your cutting machine, mine is 5.5 x 6 inches to use in the Grand Calibur. Then from some thicker card, (I used my Cason base card) die cut enough shapes to cover your base card (22 for my size). Arrange and glue the shapes in position with zip dry glue.

1.     Cut green card to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 inches.
2.     Run the peach dsp through the Grand Calibur using the leaf embossing sheet to emboss. Trim to 4 x 5-2/8 inches. Punch the top corner and adhere to green card. Add a peach Sprinkle to each corner.
3.     From Ivory card die cut the lace using HCD 713. Trim to desired shape and size to fit the front of the card. Thread cream ribbon tying to the right with a bow. Adhere lace to card front.
4.     Stamp 5 layers of petals from the Botanical Floral stamps in coral chalk ink.  Stamp one leaf set to green card using bamboo leaves ink. Die cut all using the matching dies.
5.     Adhere the leaves to card front. Sponge, shape and layer the petals to make 1 bloom adding the peach Sprinkle to the centre. Spray the finished bloom with glimmer mist. Once this is dry add to the card front.
6.     Stamp sentiment to Ivory card. Die cut using the Labels 14 die. Using foam mounting tape add this to the card front.

I'm Adding this card to the challenge over at     Make It Monday #47

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, I hope you'll call back tomorrow.......

It never rains but it pours......

Hi Blogger's.

I'm just popping in to leave a couple of pictures.  Thought I'd share.....Sydney got it's share of the rain at the end of last week, 4 days where it poured almost non stop.

My pour garden took a hiding. The pool and ponds are full to the brim and we had some flooding at the back of the garden. Thankfully all the dish drains around the house stood up quite well diverting the water off into the bush or over the rocks away from us and the people below us!
The drain Ian set all down the length of our drive and across the bottom of it did pretty well too. Amazingly though a couple of years back he dug a ditch leading off from this drain out into the bush at the side of us and that came into it's own too...hank goodness.....you can see the amount of water flowing down there....It will probably run for some time too! We lost some wattle which was a shame, but it was heavy with blossom and the wieght of the rain just split a limb.

All in all a busy time this week end, once the rain stopped it was time to clean up. Not a lot of crafting done so I need to get busy.

See you later,

Two more for Heartfelt Creations.

How are you all? Ready for the week end I guess..........Hope you have some decent weather over your way!!!!  We're in the middle of a wet spell here in Sydney flooding all around so your's truly is sitting in her room refusing to move very far :)  The boss and I went grocery shopping yesterday we're stocked up so no need to move too far from home............Oh .... roll on summer I say and if you hear me complain about being too hot please remind me about this post :):)

OK as promised I have two little projects from this weeks Heartfelt Creations post to share. One simple bookmark... and if you purchase the new 'Tropical Flourish Swirls' set you'll see that the large image was perfect for a bookmark or tag.  Here's mine a quick easy project that could also be added to the front of a card see what you think....

I just wanted to colour these blossoms so no extra layers, it's really pretty enough as it is don't you think?
I coloured this with Copic markers and added pearls to the flower centres.  Once again I followed Becca's tutorial for using a border punch to create a frame. You'll find the link for her tutorial under the tab at the top of my page.

Now my second project is a bit more involved.....I wanted to try a vintage looking Tag. I don't make many tags because I rarely use them but I enjoyed the process with this one. You might have to click on the image to see it in a little more detail........
