Oh dear here I am late again!!
Today's card is one made from Theresa Momber's new set Timeless Treasures. This card is to be my entry to this week's Stamp TV sketch challenge , so the layout is set out. I decided to use one of the sentiments for my main image with the smaller oval containing the stamped keys. These I've mounted to another piece of card before cutting out and attaching with the required ribbon/rope. I've used three oval Spellbinder dies to cut the ovals. Embossed the chocolate card with Swiss dots and used some chocolate cord that came with an earlier Stamp TV Kit Showtime. The Dp is from The Duchess Collection by Kaisercraft and the ink is VersaFine Vintage Sepia, which I also used to sponge around the smaller oval.

It was a sunny day here today 'Walshie' and I went for a walk along Manly seafront this morning which was beautiful, but a cool breeze came up as we were walking back to the car!
So it's not quite Spring yet, even if the evenings are getting longer.

Til next time.....

SASSC27 - Elegant Post

Finally managed to get back to post this little card for the Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge over at The Fresh Batch.
Using Nina's new stamp set 'Elegant Post' and stamping the post and the two love birds this time. I know Nina is travelling in America at the moment, catching up with family and friends which would make it a bit difficult for her to post her own stamp set, which is a bit tough! She makes beautiful cards and as soon as she can she's sure to show you just how versatile this set really is.
  • Stamps: Elegant Post by Nina Brackett for Gina K Designs
  • Ink: VersaColor - Silver
  • Card: GKD Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight in pure white, pure white layering weight, Artarama by Celebrations of Australia - Wine, Bazzill - Grey, DP - Kaiserscrapbook
  • Embellishments: fine wine ribbon, 4 wine brads.
My first layer is made up with the dp. The grey card was embossed using Swiss dots then matted onto some wine card.
For my stamped image I've actually made the post slightly shorter to sit on this 4 inch piece of card. The Post is actually 5 inches long. This was layered onto more of the wine card stock with the four brads attached before attaching to the card with foam tape.
The ribbon was tied across and under the dp before attaching this element to the base card.
Very simple, nice clean layout! I think I might add a sentiment at the top when I' ready to send this one!!!

Until next time.........

Shabby Cage...

Hello,
Today I thought I would show this card which was made with Nina's set Elegant Post, but I've made a 'Shabby' card for a change!!
The truth is that I had this basic layout from a card class I took ages ago with a very clever card maker Lisa. The original card had chipboard figures 21 on the front panel, from memory.
I loved the basic Grey paper used and had enough left over to make another one. This was made and left in my box until I got this new set and thought it would be a great background for the birdcage.
I just used a scrap of navy card stamped the image in chalk white and ran the same white around the edges of the block before adding to the background with foam tape.
I was really pleased that this very elegant set can be 'grunged' up a bit!! In fact Nina has designed two sets of digi paper to go with the set one of which is a grunge look.
I'm working on a couple of things ready for a Blog Hop Nina will host towards the end of the month so if you like this set keep watching !!!

That's it today hope to see you tomorrow if you can make it.
Till then.......

Mojo Monday 98 -Basket

Hello,
here is my card for Mojo 98! Sorry about the picture but the sun was just going down and I needed to get this one pictured! This weeks sketch was a little bit different and I was keen to try Nina's image and sentiment from 'Elegant Post'. This little hanging basket is so fine in it's detail it would be OK to leave it un-coloured, almost. My dp for this card had this bright magenta with a soft green and believe it or not the dark colour is brown - fabulous, I loved it and it just so happened I had the magenta plain and a small piece of ribbon that matched perfectly!
  • Stamps - Elegant Post by Nina Brackett for Gina K Designs.
  • Ink - Versacolor - brown and coloured pencils with baby oil.
  • Paper - GKD Soft Sand, Magenta is Bazzill (I think)DP heidi grace designs - forever flourish
I've layered the dp onto a piece of the magenta card stock. Used spellbinders dies for the two circles and the labels shape that sits behind them. The stamped circle was attached to the plain circle with thin foam tape. I also attached the plain labels panel to the dp with the same thin foam tape, just to pop this element a little. To finish off the ribbon was slipped through two slits at the side of the card and knotted.
Hope you like this little card, Nina's set has three sentiments, five images and the post, so there
are lots of options - I love it. Go check it out for yourself at Gina K Designs.

Hope to see you tomorrow
Till then..........

Timeless Treasures by Theresa Momber

Hello,

Two cards to share today as I mentioned in an earlier post I'm joining in with Theresa Momber's Blog Hop. We've all made projects with her new and very beautiful set 'Timeless Treasures'.
My first card is a very feminine card, when I saw this set I knew I would be able to incorporate some of my sewing treasures, so with this card I included some pretty lace and a couple of charms.
The base card is Gina K's Pure Luxury base weight in pure white. Some soft pink card was next topped with the dp which is Basic Grey bittersweet vanilla fudge.

The image and sentiment were stamped in Versafine vintage sepia onto GKD pure white layering weight then cut using a Spellbinders die. I left the card in the die and sponged gently around the edge with some soft pink ink. This was then layered onto GKD Chocolate card.

I've used two layers of foam tape to attach first the stamped image and then the pale pink layered section to the card base.
To attach the lace I pressed it onto Vliesofix (just to stabilize it) then using double sided tape attached it to a piece of the dp and cut around the lace . This was then attached to the card and the charms added. I punched some flowers for the corner and added Kaiserscrapbook Chino pearls for the centres and the three remaining corners.

I also decorated the inside of this card using one of the two key stamps that were part of the set. More punched flowers.

The sentiment inside is from Nina's new set .

A MOMENT........

The second card I made for a male and I've tried to make it look vintage using one of the GKD Digital papers 'Peachy Keen' layered onto layering weight card which sits on the base card of Soft Sand. The image was stamped using Versafine Vintage Sepia and cut using a Spellbinders rectangle die. I sponged this image whilst still in the die using the same Vintage Sepia. This was then matted onto some GKD Chocolate card that I punched along one side using a SU spiral binding punch.
I laid a strip of very fine cork across the front of the card then a vertical strip of corrugated card which I sponged to distress. I've wrapped some tea dyed string around this and knotted it . This section was attached to the card using foam tape. The Sentiment, one I really like, was stamped directly onto the digi paper. No decorating inside this card!

This is such a great set, seven sentiments and nine images, available now from Gina K Designs.

Quick Note card and Sunshines Digital image

Hello,
So today two quick cards for your.
First one is a pretty little card made using Nina's set "Elegant Post". I found this little scrap of green and pink paper and was playing with a couple of other scraps and this is the outcome!!
It's such a simple layout I thought it might make some nice note cards!
Just layers or pale green and pink card with my scrap of dp and the image stamped onto a pale green and set at a slight angle. I added the corner ribbon treatment and stamped the sentiment then wished I hadn't!!!! Added the star brad and hey presto! Very quick card.

My second card 'have an ice day' is a new digital image from Sunshine's Stamps. Christina and her husband Rob have released three new images this week-end. This one is called Mr Smoothie, they also have Nurse Chrissie and Spacie. Go take a look if you're interested in Digital Stamps.
This one was fun to colour, I've used Coloured pencils and Baby Oil. Sat the image inside the pale pink oval, cut with a Spellbinders die. The base card is pale blue matted with pale lemon.
The ice cream cone is another Digital image that I printed out quite small to fit this card.

Well that's it today, I'm joining Theresa Momber's Blog Hop tomorrow 1pm (Aussie time) and 10pm CST (USA). Timeless Treasures is an amazing set so hope you can check back.
Till then.......
