Update!!!

Thank you so much for all your good wishes I'll pass them on to Ian when I go to the hospital later this morning.   It's been a horrid few days but not life threatening so we really can't complain.

The Surgeon operated on his arm on Sunday afternoon.  Yesterday, for the first time I got to speak to the Doctors so I'm feeling a little better now. I know what they've done for him and where we go from here.  The fracture to his left humorous was not straight forward and required a plate with 8 pins!!! There was some concern about nerve damage as he was unable to move the fingers on his left hand but they are reasonably sure this will improve as the days go by, so we're watching this.

His ribs will take a few weeks but they do nothing these days for broken/cracked ribs.  Now that Ian's arm is under control and he's off all drips and tubes I think it's the ribs that are giving him trouble!

How did he manage all this .......... Cleaning outside windows.  He was stepping off the ladder onto the top of the Pergola and the ladder slipped.  He fell about 3 metres onto brick pathers.  He had the good sense to tuck his head which turned him towards his left side and we think his left arm went out to break his fall.
The terrible thing is that Ian was unable to move after the fall because of his arm and I was out........He lay for an hour  unable to attract attention until I got home.  I feel sick just writing this down.

Not sure at this stage how much longer Ian will be in hospital, probably until they are happy he can move his fingers properly.  I will post a card on Friday for the Annabelle challenge all being well.

Till then thank you all again.

Just a Note

Hello,

Thanks for all the comments I've just read on my last card.
I'm afraid I haven't blogged since Friday's pre-posted card as Ian had an accident at Home on Friday.
He's in hospital now, OK.... but with some cracked ribs and a badly broken arm.

I know you'll all understand ...... I'll write soon.

AnnaBelle Stamps - Say It In Cream

Friday is challenge day at AnnaBelle Stamps and as you know one week Andrea has a Sketch Challenge the next week we're challenged  to Say it in ...... or  Say it with .........
Last week was Sketch Challenge 027 you can see the details here . We would really like to see some more of your beautiful creations, so, come on join in........ Andrea has a prize on offer for the Sketch Challenges and the prize for 027 is one of ABS brown Petal Kits.  In this kit you'll find three sizes of brown, beige and white petals, three  cards of satin ribbon and also a mixture of AnnaBella's gorgeous sprinkles and pearls.
On to this weeks challenge, which is to Say It In Cream.  For my card  I chose to work with ABS Ballerina Rose from the July release.
The sentiments with this set are lovely and I've used one that is perfect for me, living so far from family.

I've stamped the main image from Ballerina Rose along with one of the smaller flower shapes onto Cream card using VersaMark ink, then embossed with
opaque vanilla embossing powder.  The Websters Pages DP has a scalloped border, punched using an EK Success diamond lace border punch.

Along the top edge of the DP I added some scrunched up white double faced satin ribbon that I coloured using a Copic Marker.

The sentiment was embossed with rich gold embossing powder and cut and embossed using a Spellbinder Labels 10 die.  I coloured a white petal as per the ribbon and added a pearl centre before adding this detail to the sentiment. The sentiment was attached to the card with foam tape.

To complete my card I sat the front onto some gold card (I love cream and gold, it looks so lush and reminds me of weddings!). As a finishing touch I added four small heart shaped pearls.

I really hope you'll join in this week, I'd love to see all your cream creations!  This little card is on it's way to Mum in the UK. We had a great time when I was home but seven days just wasn't long enough........

See you soon.

Waltzinmouse Male card.

I think I should keep a couple of these belated Birthday cards!!!!  I know I was late mailing my last birthday card and it had a long way to go.  Have I mentioned I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters who have all produced 14 nieces and nephews.  Now some of these have their own littlies!!!  Arghhhhhh

I wanted to make a male card using a Waltzingmouse set called Faux Fun Circles .  Below is how I made the card for those who read such things!  I was quite pleased with this though I did have to add a little ribbon~~~ not too girlie ~~~ and a wooden star ~~~ that's OK right??

I'll be back tomorrow with a card for the AnnaBelle Say it in...challenge, which is certainly more girlie!!!  Hope you'll drop by.
Till then.........

Method.
1.  Top fold some 4.25" wide white card making it shorter on the front than the back. Punch the front edge with a Fiskar's Upper Crest punch.  Run a 2 x4.25" piece of Craft card through the Cuttlebug with a Swiss dots embossing folder. Adhere to the inside edge of the front of the card.
2. Punch the bottom of some American Craft burnt orange card as above. Using VersaMark stamp the small leaf image over this card  (hard to see I know in this photo!).
3. Cut a strip of Dp from KaiserCraft Up and Away Collection 6x6" paper pad.  Pierce top and bottom them attach to the B O card. Wrap some ribbon around B O card and attach the wooden star with some silk thread tied off in a bow.  Attach to card base.
4. Stamp image to Craft card using Memento Potters Clay ink. Cut and emboss with a Spellbinder circle die.  Pierce each scallop.

5. Stamp sentiment from  WMS Fancy Phrases with Potters Clay onto PL pure white card. Cut and attach to the centre of the circle with foam tape.  The completed circle is attached to the card with fine foam tape.

Joan's Gardens Challenge # 8

The challenge at Joan's Gardens this week is to make  a fall theme card using pumpkins or fall leaves with either embossing or glitter.
Joan showed some beautiful samples of cards using the new range of stamps she carries from
Heartfelt Creations called Autumn Splendor.  There seemed to be lots of gold on these cards so that was my starting point.

I started with a base of Pure Luxury pw card with a layer of gold .

Two stamp sets were used for this card, both GKD. The grid was embossed in gold from AnnaBelle Stamps onto Pumpkin Spice.  The image was coloured with Copic Markers. I've used a Cuttlebug Pumpkin embossing folder for the Apple Green panel and some Toffee Sprinkles from AnnaBelle Stamps for some Autumn bling.

Thanks for calling by today and thanks too to all those friends who leave me comments, It's good to hear from you. Have a great day...........

SCS - CAS - ways to use polka dots......

Today's card was made for the CAS #78 challenge over at SCS - 'ways to use polka dots'.  My card uses a stamped polka dot frame from a Waltzingmouse set called Very Vintage Labels 10 with the centre sentiment from another one called Fancy Phrases.  I've been waiting to get the matching Spellbinders die to cut this frame. I have to say I'm really pleased with it, no problem lining up the die once you've stamped the image - perfect.

I embossed the front of my card with a new (to me) Cuttlebug folder called Spots and Dots. A strip of dp was also embossed with Swiss Dots and some SU polka dot ribbon added.  I use Rangers Antique Linen distress ink to stamp the image and once cut it was mounted to the card with foam dots.  To complete the card I added a button with a glue dot.
Mmm..... happy with this CAS card!

Feeling good I made another quick one!

For this card I embossed the front with a Swiss dots embossing folder added a strip of polka dot dp from the scraps box, that I punched along one side with a Fiskar's Effervescence punch.

I stamped the sentiment in close to cocoa.......actually what I did was to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to work out where it was going and then push the dots down using an embossing tool! Stamped the sentiment then pushed the dots back up from the inside of the card!!!

The little bird image was stamped with SU close to cocoa ink onto a scrap of blue/green card and attached to the card with foam dots.

To complete the card I added three little chocolate pearls from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for calling past today. I'll be back tomorrow to share another card, hope you can drop by..........

Hello Blogger's,

Thanks for dropping by today, how was your week end? It's Monday morning here in Sydney and the rain they talked about for Saturday didn't arrive until evening so we had a wonderful sunny day.  Sunday was beautiful too.  It was a busy week end in the Walsh household with only one card made.

I didn't set out to make this card, I was just playing with one of the small stamps from a Waltzingmouse set called Very Vintage Labels No 10.  I really like these scrolls and by stamping them side by side, one facing up and then a row facing down I ended up with this strip that I had to use.

SU Melon Mambo, Cottage Wall dp, Kiwi Kiss and White textured card were my card choices with Kiwi Kiss for the Swirls and Memento Tuxedo Black for the sentiment (WMS Fancy Phrases).  Six of the smallest gems from Annabelle Stamps Pink Petal Kit complete the card.

What the camera doesn't show is the beautiful sparkle from these tiny pink gems.... Just enough and so pretty!

Till next time...........
