Oh dear, Sydney is still damp and miserable!! Roll on Summer I say.
The only good thing about such terrible weather is that I get to spend some time in the craft room.... I went to my bookmarked challenges today, (thanks Patti, great idea) and printed off a couple to play with. I have my five new digital stamps from Victoria Case and picked this one called C is for Carlie. I love the expression on her face, see what you think! This is my card for two challenges, Stamps and Smiles SASSC 37. It's a gift card with a slide in pocket for a voucher. It's also for Just Us Girls JUGS4 which was to make our own flowers.
I started with the dp that I'd had for a while in my stash. This is a double sided paper from All My Memories called Charming Daisies. Brown background with flowers in green, blue and lemon, so this was my colour palette.
My base card is plain white card stock with a layer of embossed SU baja breeze.I layered the plain lemon side of the dp onto some American Crafts chocolate card and stamped the small flourish in the centre with SU so saffron. Next was a layer of the daisy dp onto more chocolate card before cutting out the half circle. I used a Spellbinder die for the job.I stitched a line of zig zag around the pocket to secure it, before attached this section to the baja breeze card. I used pale lemon satin ribbon to wrap around this completed section before securing it to the card base. One I'd sized and printed the image onto white card I coloured with Copic's. Using an oval Nestabilities die I've cut the image out and whilst it was still in the die I lightly sponged around the edge with SU So Saffron. To complete the card I made the flowers as follows:The pale lemon paper is the same as I've used on the card. I used the small flourish stamp with so saffron ink and stamped all over the paper before embossing it with Swiss dots through the Cuttlebug. Then using a medium and small EK Success Retro flower punch I've punched out three of each. I've curled the petals round the handle of my stylus before assembling the flowers . To finish them off I added a small chocolate pearl from Kaisercraft.
