Ruby Wedding!

Thank goodness the week end is here! I know, I know for us SAH types week ends don't mean quite the same......... BUT it's been such a tedious week here, I'm so please to draw a line underneath Friday and start again!!!

Thought I'd show you the card I put together 'by request'! Delish Webster's Pages paper from one of the 6 x 6 packs Selma sent me from Joan's store. Thank you Selma I l o v e this paper and thought it would be great for this Anniversary Card.

My 6 x 6 inch card uses a whole sheet with the centre cut away to show some Swiss dots embossed red card, I've placed my sentiment in an oval to sit over this section. Ribbon threaded lace sits across the top with roses and babies breath added to the side along with pearl hearts, heart pins and the gold embellies. I added Cherry Sprinkles to the Sentiment oval and a Cuttlebug die cut swirl for the bottom corner.

I found a great sentiment for inside this card, I always give a couple of choices, after all the person giving the card knows the recipients!

The card is boxed and I've decorated the lid with some Kaisercraft paper with a ribbon and scalloped strip, to which I added the Kaisercraft tag. A couple of the same Cuttlebug die cut swirls complete the lid.

Annabelle Stamps - Say it in White

Friday again so that means it's time for Annabelle Stamps challenge to Say It In......White .

My card features the set 'Diva', which I've coloured with Copic markers.

Method:

1. Stamp image colour and cut out.

2. Emboss some white card using the Cuttlebug and Kimmy-Luvs Embossing folder.

3. Punch either side of a strip of card for the sentiment using a SU lase punch. Then emboss the sentiment which is also a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Add three small pearls.

4. Punch two stars and a circle from the same white card. Add buttons with pearl centres.

5. Slip the sentiment strip through the circle and attach to the card front with double sided tape. Add the star embellishments.

6. Attach the coloured image using foam dots.

7. Lay some strong tape across the bottom of the card and stick the white ribbon in a gathered fashion directly to the tape, folding the edges under.

8. Attach the completed mat to the base card.

9. Make a cup of tea and relax!!!!

Asian Wishes

I got my new sets from Claire at Waltzingmouse Stamps yesterday, she had a huge release of eight sets and they were all great. I had a hard time deciding which to order and ended up with six sets! Last night I sat looking at them all and couldn't make my mind up which set to start with........does that happen to anyone else? In the end I turned to SCS and decided to make a CAS card for their challenge.

Method:

1. Fold a the card to make a 4.25 x 6 inch card.

2. Punch along one edge of 3 x 6 inch P L Ivory card with a Fiskars Upper Crest punch.

3. Cut a a strip of Webster's Pages petite papers Collection Triple Pack, Seaside Retreat, Garden Gala & Nature's Storybook (I think this is Garden Gala!). Making sure to get the lantern in.

4. Punch along the bottom edge of the dp with the same Fiskars punch before attaching it over the PL card.

5. Stamp the sentiment also from 'Asian Gardens' directly to the dp in close to cocoa

6. Stamp the exotic bird from WMS 'Asian Garden' just above the dp. Stamping twice once with SU close to cocoa and baja breeze and then a second time with just the baja breeze.

7. Pierce across the top of the PL card and attach to the base card with double sided tape.

8. Add four 3mm Blueberry Sprinkles from Annabelle Stamps.

I spy with my little eye..........

I hope your week is going better than mine!!! I've had a sore eye that was giving me a problem for a couple of days and by yesterday the swelling had gone down. Then this morning I woke feeling like I had grit in my eye. By lunch time I'd decided it was time to visit the Doctor who removed a foreign body from my left eye! Not sure what it was or if it was the cause of the earlier irritation but thank goodness it's gone. Hopefully now I can get back into some card making because I really haven't felt like it!

Enough winging from me......... I thought I would post this little navy and white card today. It's a CAS card using a navy base with some embossed white card and three Annabelle Petals. I've added button for the centres with the two white ones tied on with crochet cotton. The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps too.

I've been asked to make another boxed card for an Anniversary and I'm using some Webster's Pages paper with some roses............ Hope to have that ready to show you tomorrow.

I also received another beautiful RAK from Crafty Connie......ah thanks Connie, you're very naughty but nice too!!! Connie has set the challenge for the 'Roses' May challenge so I better get that underway.

Oh and today new stamps arrived to play with...... yeah!!!

Magical Monday - Softly Afloat CAS card

Hope you all enjoyed a restful week end!

Today's challenge at TMITA/PCC is to make a CAS card using Nina's Image Softly Afloat.

I've printed the image twice and coloured one completely with Copic markers. On the second image I coloured two flower heads and the butterfly before cutting them out. These have been added over the main image with foam dots. A sentiment from Annabelle Stamps was stamped below the image before punching the SU lace border on both sides of the card.

The base card is SU riding hood red to match the flower heads with a piece of knotted white satin ribbon added to one side.

A really quick and easy challenge this week, hope you will be able to join in the fun. Go check the design teams cards for more inspiration. Nina will give an image of your choice from her Paper Cupcakes on line store, to one lucky randomly picked winner. So what are you waiting for!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums out there!

Here in Sydney the weather is beautiful - clear blue sky with lots of sunshine. I think the parks and beaches will be full of family get together's today. I just had to pop to the local shopping Mall and it was very quiet, which for a weekend is unusual!

I'm about to work on a couple of cards and I have some beautiful Webster's Pages paper pads and silk ribbon to play with. Thank you Selma and Joan you girls are too kind.

Thursday's Copic Certification

As promised a couple of photos from the Copic Class held in Sydney on Thursday.

I've long been a follower of Marianne Walker's blog www.ilikemarkers.blogspot.com and have found it an invaluable source of information about colouring in general and colouring with Copic markers particularly. As soon as I read on her blog that she was coming over to Sydney for a Certification class I got my name down, never really thinking that I would be able to get a seat.

Getting the phone call to say I was in and that both Marianne and Lori Craig from Splitcoast Stampers would be conducting the class was a real thrill. I have to thank X-Press Graph-X Supplies P/L for giving us the opportunity to learn from these two amazing artists. It was such a good day.... learning new techniques and confirming information that I had read on the blogs.

Apart from the papercraft enthusiasts, like me, there were store owners and suppliers in the room so it was interesting getting to chat with some of them and to try out some of their products, card stock in particular. I've always bought my good stamping card from the US but will be happy to buy from local suppliers in future...... having the opportunity to try on the day was great. Meeting up with blogger's I knew but had never met was a fun part of the day too.

If you use Copic markers and get the opportunity to attend a Certification class I would highly recommend that you do, you won't be sorry.

Thanks especially to Marianne and Lori for making the day a fun learning experience. Marianne will have gone back to her room with odd coloured earrings and a green wedding band........After proving that you can colour most things with Copics! I have to tell you that I'm thinking one of the Air Guns would be a great tool to own...haha....but maybe after I complete my Copic Set!!!

I hope the girls enjoy their week in Melbourne and leave Australia knowing they've made a difference to some of us Aussie paper crafters. I believe the plan is to train some Australian crafters to carry out training programs in the future so it will be interesting to see which Copic users these will be.
