Tweet Retreat

YEAH!!!!     HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCIA!!!!
Join the fun click on the link to take you to The Stamp Spot.

Hello all,

Today I sized and printed out this little digi from Kathy Martin.  I've admired her sweet little designs for a while and  downloaded some to play with a while ago, so at last here is the first.  Kathy calls this one 'Tweet Retreat', I've added a computer generated sentiment to make a Christmas card.   I have a thing about Birdhouses......I have a few around the house and in the garden so  this little image had to come to my house!

I've used Copic markers to colour and two of the birdhouses have been popped up on foam dots.   This might be the last of the double bows for a while ....... my last three cards have had them so .... enough already!

How was your week end? Did you manage to get some craft time sneaked in between the chores?

The weather here was glorious.......Spring has arrived and we've made the most of it.  On Saturday the Stampin Up class with Fiona was fun and we made 6 cards in a few hours.......not like me at all, it usually takes me ages. Needless to say I put in an order........well who could resist the new 'In Color' papers  etc.     Have I ever told you my husband is a saint?   He never complains, just laughs and pulls my leg about this hobby of mine.

I  did a bit of Spring cleaning in the craft room, moving the computer from one end of the space to the other so cables plugs etc all got sorted out in the process.  No card making that I can share but the Annabelle previews start on Wednesday.  This morning was the Waltzingmouse Stamps September release...........Oh dear I was bad!! Four new sets coming my way..... but they are all     g o r g e o u s  !  That Claire is such a clever lady and her DT make it so hard to resist.  Go take a look...... I dare you!!!

Well that's it for now, take care all till next time...........

WMS - Vintage Labels - Enjoy....

Good morning Blogger's,

Before I get to today's card just a reminder of my September Candy here.

Thank you for the lovely comments you left on yesterday's Annabelle card, I'm so glad you guys liked it.   Annabelle Stamps are so much fun to play with, I've added a couple of sets to my Calico Bag of goodies.

Today's card uses  Waltzingmouse stamps, Vintage Labels 2 is another of Claire's sets designed to coordinate with Spellbinder dies.  I've chosen lavender again and hope you can see this one as such and not blue!  Actually I think I did a better job with the camera today. Some beautiful satin ribbon and a few gems give a touch of glamour.

I'm spending Saturday afternoon with my Stampin Up Demonstrator. Checking out the new catalogue and trying some of the new toys.  I'm bound to find all sorts that I just can't live without !!!

I really like the look of the card  they sell at Amuse in America, such beautiful colours, small checks and polka dots but white on the inside......makes sense doesn't it?  I wish someone here made or stocked it.

OK that's my whinge over!!!!! Thanks for dropping by this week, I hope you have a safe and happy week end.    Till next time.............

ABS - Say It With....Sprinkles.

Time for another Annabelle Stamps Say It With challenge. This week Andrea asked us to say it with Sprinkles so my card uses  lots of mini  silver sprinkles.  The image is from Sentimental Bluebells and the D F white satin ribbon is also from ABS.

Using these tiny Sprinkles is so easy if you have a Sakura Glue Pen, one dab of ink and a pair of tweezers to pop the sprinkle in place...... too easy.

Hope you'll take the challenge this week and remember the September release starts on 15th with a blog hop previewing the first of three sets.  As always Andrea will be picking one random person from the comments left on each of the DT's blogs to receive the previewed set.

This card is entered in the following challenge:

Your Next Stamp - Anything goes.

Sunday's With Chrissy - Sparkle and Shine.

Till next time..........

One Layer Wednesday 19

Hi  blogger's,

I've been busy making 'projects' ready for the Annabelle Stamps September release, which start on the 15th.  I can't share yet and I didn't have anything to post......then I saw the challenge on Susan's blog..... perfect a CAS card. OLW # 19 is to make a one layer card with just a touch of colour.

For my card I've taken a couple of images from Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens and the sentiment is from the Asian Gardens Additions.   I had to make a mask  for the bird by stamping onto a post it note and cutting around the tiny bird.  Once the image was stamped to the card I used a Copic marker to colour the remaining space, which was the bird shape.  To complete my card I rounded opposite corners.

Spring Has Sprung.....

Well ...... that might be a bit of an exaggeration, the sun is trying very hard here today but plenty of cloud around and cool .  I'm not sure I'll ever get used to making Spring cards in September, it's a bit like Christmas at the height of Summer..... just feels odd!

Today's card uses a little  digi image that I coloured last night with a few Copic markers, her name is Paula and she came from Clip Art and Digital Art.  How sweet are these cute little 'dolly' images? such fun to colour.

She's been sized on the computer and printed on X-Press It Blending Card.  This is an Australian card (fancy that!) and if you haven't tried it and use Copic markers you should, I promise you'll love it!

The pearlescent mint green card has been randomly stamped with various butterfly stamps to keep with a Spring theme.  I added a bit of detail to the sentiment tag on this one, I quite like it ..... not too OTT...what do you think?  All the butterflies and the sentiment are GKD stamps.

This little card is my entry in the following challenges:

Bee Crafty  Anything goes.
Stamp Something  Something cute.

Thanks for the nice comments on yesterday's card ...... not really one of my favs I have to admit, I'm tempted to try again!

I had to share this picture with you today...... These beautiful orchids have been sitting in my hall for 2 weeks!!! They still look as fresh as the day they arrived with a friend of mine.  Would you believe she grows these beauties on a retaining wall in her back garden !!!

Her husband has promised when he next thins them out to give me a cutting....... Oh the pressure.....I will try so hard not to kill them, but my track record with orchids is not good.
I wonder if Wallabies like them, they seem to like eating every other plant I like in the garden..........

Till next time.

A Little French Fancy.....

While gale force winds blew, rattling the windows and sending dead branches from gum trees flying through the air ...... I sat playing with paper. It was quite a day in Sydney yesterday! .... windy weather unsettles me ,  not sure why, but it  always has.   Perhaps that's why I struggled with todays card. Or was it because I was making one card for two challenges ....  Anyway, I've named this  'A Little French Fancy' and it's my card for this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge # 13 also Joan's Gardens Challenge # 13 .  Oh my goodness .... both  13 could that be it?

Joan's challenge was to use purple, a pendant die , cut a flower and colour it and to use a punched border.

So lots of sponging, layers and sewing. The corner details were stamped twice, if you can make that out.  Why? because I thought it worked with the two tone dp .... and I didn't like the first colour perfect plum on its own!

WMS Victorian Frippery  was the set I used for the corners and sentiment.  The flowers, cut from a blossom die and a small five petal punch, have been sponged to colour them.

Spellbinders Labels 9, Blossom, circle and Fleur De Lis  dies were all used as well as three  punches ..... you should have seen my work space!!!  I think it might take me as long, if not longer to list all the bits I used ....... and I have to say I'm still not too sure about this one.

Till next time...... thinking about all you Victorians with flood alerts .... and the good people of Christchurch, New Zealand. x

More Bentley Bear.....

Good Morning,

Here's another card  using Bentley Bear (my free with UK Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine stamp set).  This time I coloured him with a mixture of Copics and Prisma Pencils.

White base card with a punched strip of green on the inside edge. The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps Party Animals 1  and  dew drops in the balloon colours  embellish either side of the sentiment.

You can now find me on Facebook!  Sorry I know some of you tried to contact me on my 'family' Facebook page ....... but really I didn't think you needed to see my 'party animal' nieces and nephews photos etc. on that site!!!!   So I have a  n  other one ....... much more suitable!

I wanted to link my blog over there too,  the only way I could work out how to do it was to add it to the Networked Blogs .... which seems a bit OTT for my little blog and maybe a bit presumptuous ....... but there you are it's there now and thank you Brenda it  has one follower!!!

Too much excitement for one day.... think I better go and lie down!

See you soon.....
