Sammy and his friend Spot.....

Hi friends, how are you all?

I think yesterday I paid for my mad week-end......by mid-day I was starting to feel sluggish and really felt like a sleep. For goodness sake, can't start that!
I sat and played with a card for the next GKD blog hop, can't say too much about it but it turned out better than I thought it might! Oh and the card I posted yesterday actually made the challenge over at There's Magic In The Air, only just so I really cut that fine.

Today's card certainly missed Mojo Monday but I liked the layout and had a gorgeous little digital image from Victoria Case so hey presto here it is.

Meet Sammy and his little friend Spot....... how cute are they!
Very simple layout.....Base card is plain white with a layer of gold card. I followed with a layer of red no name card and to this I added the white spot from Doodlebug Design Inc.
Once the image was sized I printed him onto more white card and using a square Nestie cut him out. I've used my Copics to colour him (please note the red....I'm getting braver!). I punched three gold dots as seen and the star was cut from the same gold card.
The sentiment is Computer generated onto a 'ticket' and attached to the card with foam tabs.

A very quick and simple card but the red makes it I think.

Thanks for dropping by,

Till next time.........take care

May Your Cup Overflow........

Good Morning Blogger's

I was up early this morning, after a busy week-end I was determined to get a couple of cards ready.
Now I might be a bit late for this challenge! never mind I loved the image and wanted to colour it. It's There's Magic In The Air and as you know Nina supplies a digital image for everyone to play with. This week's image is another beauty..... ready for Thanksgiving which we don't celebrate. I think this image is versatile though.... it could be a Harvest card. I added my own sentiment and plan on using this card for a friends Birthday.
The other good news is, and I'm sure lots of you know this already, Selma is now a member of Nina's Design Team! How good is that, her cards are always beautifully constructed I can't wait to see her cards for TMITA in the coming weeks.

OK so my card is quite simple I've started with plain white card layered with some My Mind's Eye - Day Dream Bubblegum Girl.
Coloured the image with Copics once it was sized and printed, that is!
Used a Nesti square die to cut it, then punched either side of the image with my SU Horizontal slot punch.
Threaded the ribbon through the slots and tied off to the side of the card. I added a red button with some string tied in a small bow.
The sentiment is computer generated and printed onto green American Crafts Card. The four corners were punched out before attaching to the card with foam tabs.

Thanks for dropping by I'll post this quickly you never know I might just make it!!!

Till next time.......

Hi the bag lady's here!!!!

Hi blogger's!

How's your week end been?

Thought I should just let you know that I'm still here even though I haven't posted a card in a few days!
I've been cleaning up! I've had a bee in my bonnet about getting rid of all the 'stuff' I put away in cupboards 'just in case'!!! Does anyone else do that? you know keep things just in case. My linen cupboard was bulging at the seams with bedding that I've had for ever - towels, table clothes I had loads......Not anymore!
Now, you know there are only the two of us with four bedrooms here, each with a wardrobe in and I have to tell you, I had (we had) clothes in every one! I found two suites I'd brought with me from the UK 23 years ago......why ever would I have kept them... my old Airline handbag. Oh and hats I wore to my brothers and sisters weddings in the UK .....for goodness sake!! I've even got MY wedding dress and hat, but could'nt throw that out could I!!!
Well it's all gone no looking back......four big bin bags of clothes sitting in the back of 'Walshies' car ready for the clothing bin. One more with old towels etc for the rag bin and a box of nic nacs for the Salvation Army or Vinnie's. It feels soooooooo good!!!

Walshie wants to know when I plan to go through my craft room!!!!!!!!! Errr

Hope to get on with some cards tomorrow.

Till next time.......

StampTV CSS Challenge Hop........

Welcome to our first Center Stage Spotlight Design Team Blog Hop!

Jessica Fick, the Design Team Coordinator for GinaK Designs has issued a challenge to all of the past and present team CSS team members to make a Christmas card with one of these sketches:

Hello! I'm so glad you've joined in on this hop.
I've made two cards using both of Jessica's sketch layouts.
The first features the spring of holly from the Stamp TV Kit - Holiday Cheer .
Stamped onto GKD Pure Luxury layering weight in pure white, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copic markers. Nestabilities dies were used to cut the circles and scalloped circle.
My base card is American Crafts - Rouge. Next a layer of GKD Pure Luxury layering weight in pure white. The DP is Basic Grey from the Wassail paper pad and this was shaped using a Fiskars border punch.
The scalloped circle was cut from some red glittered card. The red and white ribbon came next followed by the plain green circle which was attached with thin foam tabs. The stamped and coloured image was finally attached with more foam .
I've lined this card and stamped a sentiment and corner holly detail both from Theresa Momber's set Very Merry Christmas.

The first card was 'Traditional' my second card is a little more fun.

The Stamp used here is from Carolyn King for GKD and called 'Warm Winter Wishes'. I've used this little snowman on a couple of my Christmas cards this year he's quite versatile! I'd hoped for some sunshine to show the glitter on this card but sadly it's a dull day here!
I stamped him using Memento Tuxedo Black onto GKD PL layering weight in pure white and coloured with Copics. The heart was stamped twice, coloured and 'Joy' from the same set was stamped using a stamp-a-ma-jig to position . I've added some falling snow and snow beneath the snowman using Martha Stewart clear glitter..... I'm getting better with the glitter thing...... still end up with plenty on the floor! The cut out heart was added now using fine foam tabs.

The base card is PL heavy base weight in pure white. Followed by a layer of Baja Breeze then Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses dp. The corners were punched out and pearls added.
Nestabilities dies were used for both the image and the scalloped circle which was cut from baja breeze.

For this card I used dp in place of ribbon and both sides were punched with a Fiskars border punch. The stamped image was attached using thick foam tabs.

The sentiment from Theresa Momber's set 'Very Merry Christmas' was stamped onto pure white card with Baja Breeze ink, cut to size and the corners punched . To complete the sketch I've punched two snow flakes and added the clear gems. Both these elements were attached to the card with more foam tabs.

One sketch two quite different designs which one would you pick?

I hope you'll take some time and visit the girls blogs....... they are a talented group I'm sure you'll be inspired by their work. If you don't manage them all you can always check the link over at StampTV.Thanks for dropping by, hope you'll come by tomorrow when I have a very cute little girls card to share..........

I hope you dance - Michelle Perkett

Hello,

How was your weekend?
Walshie and I had a great time, eventually...... not to bore you with the details... but 'the boss' wouldn't hear of booking accommodation prior to leaving home as 'there's plenty of places to stay'. We set of at 6am and then when we got close to Port Macquarie (which was the venue for the lunch party and where we planned to stay) HE ...... decided to drive on to his favourite beach at South West Rocks (an hour and a bit up the road) to take a look. Oh and we'll have brunch here too!!!
We eventually got to Port Maquarie and started trying to book in around 1pm. After hearing three times 'sorry no available rooms this weekend'. I asked what was going on in town, to be told they were hosting a half marathon with a couple of thousand extra visitors staying over for the weekend!!!!!
We eventually found a cabin on a tennis complex. Someone had booked then hadn't shown up ... thankfully.
All was forgiven by Sunday morning....had a walk along the beach before joining the party. The lunch was great. We caught up with friends we hadn't seen in a while talked, laughed and ate and some of us had a few glasses of wine until early evening, got back to the tennis complex and slept like a baby!!!!

Thought I would post this card that I made on Friday for a Michelle Perkett sketch challenge (no2) over at PCP.
The image is one of Michelle's digital images and once I'd sized and printed it I decided to change it ever so slightly.... I hope Michelle didn't mind but I thought some tulle lace gathered into a tutu would add some extra dimension to her beautiful drawing.
Before adding the tutu I coloured the Fairy using Copic markers and for her wings and crown I added some Martha Stewart glitter.
The dp is from Basic Grey Bittersweet paper pad, one side of which was punched with a Fiskars border punch. I also added some hot pink rice tissue, the edge of this was also punched with the second new Fiskars punch.
Two hot pink pearls were added to complete the sketch.

Tomorrow I have to get my stamps out and make a card for a Gina K Blog Hop due to post on the 4th November.....5th Aussie time and for those of you 'non Aussies' Tomorrow in Australia we all stop for a Horse Race........The Melbourne Cup will be run tomorrow early afternoon. It's a huge day, there will be special lunches everywhere around the Country. Melbourne takes a day off, just about every office in Sydney will hold a party of some description. People bet a small fortune either at the TAB's (Betting Offices) or on office sweepstakes. Down in Melbourne the dress shops will have been busy as the girls go all out with outfits hats and fascinators will be everywhere!!! It's just a great day.
I'll be watching with everyone else for sure...... Walshie's promised to get me a horse in his office sweepstakes so I'll let you know if I'm lucky.....................
so till next time............
