Casing Theresa Momber.......and there's more

Theresa Momber is the featured stamper on SCS this week so Vicki who is hosting the sketch challenge over on STV thought it would be good if we filled the STV gallery with cards CASING Theresa's too.

My only problem with this is that Theresa is the Queen of sponging.......and I absolutely suck at sponging. Ah well, I checked out her gallery and chose a card that I thought didn't have too much of the S word. Here's Theresa's Happy Spring: (I've kept it small to give mine a chance lol).

Beautiful.......yes.

For my card I chose an image from GKD Spring Florals, coloured with Copic markers.

All the sponging was done using Memento New Sprout. The matting is black with all shapes cut using Spellbinder dies. I used a Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder for the sponged white panel. The Base card is GKD Lovely Lavender and my ribbon is green organza.

What do you think?have I got the CASING thing right? is it different enough?... hope so!!

I tried really hard with my sponging and this time I'm reasonably happy with it.

My little Sassy Cheryl 'Distressed' card from Sunday's post just scraped into the top 3!!!!!!!

OMG .... imagine my card up there with one from Lisa Cook and Julie Glasgow.......I'm just plain tickled pink!!!!! Think I better go lie down.....too much excitement. Thank you all, over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.

Something other than a card........

I was so pleased to receive my new stamps from GKD Thursday before the long week-end. Which, was just under two weeks from ordering!!! Painful......but that's what happens when you live in the best country in the world!!!! OK ...settle down ..... we think it's the best....a long way away though.

I've only played with one set so far, Nina Brackett's new set Nana's Needlework. I think I told you before this card making bug bit me I made quilts, quite a few quilts. I loved the process of cutting beautiful fabric to re-join it in a different way, or using scraps of fabric and hand stitching... applique. Anyway after the first quilt I made I thought I should keep notes for each quilt in a note book. I'd write about where I found the fabric I was using and things that were going on during the making of the quilt. Some of my quilts were well travelled!!!

Gina K showed this folder on her site made to keep holiday photos before scrapbooking them and I thought it would make a great quilt journal. Didn't do anything until I saw Nina's set......

I used SU Kraft for the base of my folder with a layer of brown American Craft card followed by the dp which I think is a Kaisercraft (sorry). I stamped the quilt onto GKD pure luxury pure white. I got to pick how the plain squares were decorated as the set comes with four small stamps to pick your own design. I've coloured with Copics and cut the quilt out. Much quicker than sewing a quilt!!!

I computer generated the title and printed it out on peppermint card before adhering the quilt. This is then matted to a scalloped piece of the brown card and added to the top fold of the folder.

I've made up a few index cards using the computer adding a quilt name, the date completed and lines ready for my condensed notes. I've also added a small picture of the quilt in the bottom corner. I'm actually going to change these cards a little, here I printed four to one sheet of card stock but think I might like them slightly larger. I plan to add a larger photograph of the quilt clipped to the back of each card. Once I've got this organised I'll be making some up for the craft girls - perfect gift!!!

Magical Monday at TMITA/PCC

Can you believe it's Monday again.......the weeks seem to fly past! There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes is here with another challenge using any of Nina's images to make a card. Selma's turn to host this one and she would like to see some 3D flowers used on the card.

I've used Nina's watering can filled with flowers as a Spring theme - well, Spring for most of you Autumn here but we don't want to think about that just yet!!!

I've kept this card very simple, plain white base card with an embossed frame scored using my ScorPal. A Spellbinders blossom die cut the bright green mat for the image which was cut using a circle die. Copics coloured this image - so quick and easy.

My flowers were made using the same blossom die in the two smallest sizes, cut from orange card scraps. the lavender centres are some pre - made flowers from my stash. I cut the blossoms then scrunch them up a little before layering with a silver brad to hold the layers together. I've also added the punched green swirl.

The sentiment is from the Annabelle Stamps set 'Flowers With Love'.

Sassy Cheryl's#5 - Distressed Country Girl

Easter Sunday here and a very quiet day, which is good. The sun keeps trying to break through but plenty of showers still. Hope you're enjoying time with family with maybe a bit of craft time too.

I managed to finish my card for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #5 last night, and photographed it between showers this morning. The challenge was to make a Distressed card using one of Cheryl's images. I used the first image I bought, which was from Squigglefly, called Country Girl or Sweet Melissa. I love this image and have made several cards with it, this is the first distressed one though.

Like yesterdays card I printed onto some self patterned dp. I used Copic markers to colour this one and all the edges were distressed with scissors and distress ink - antique linen.

Base card is SU Kraft with American Crafts orange for the mat. The dp is from Kaisercraft paper pad The Devonshire Collection. I've torn and rolled edges and also added the lacing using 'distressed' string. I find it quite hard to tear pretty paper but quite like the effect!

The only embellishment being the three Kaisercraft gems.

Isabella's Sketchbook - Challenge 1 - Love blooms......

Hey Blogger's, how's your Easter break going? Our weather is a bit of a mixed bag with April showers and the sun trying hard to break through.

Today's five inch card is my entry into the first sketch challenge at Isabella's Challenge Blog. I've used a beautiful image from Isabella called Mary Mary, which I've printed at approx. 2.75 inches tall.

The DSP is from the Kaisercraft Peachy Keen paper pad, which I think is full of beautiful Australian colours. The Ochre and burnt orange I picked for my card, teamed it with some American Crafts airforce blue (my name) for the mat. The base card is GKD pure luxury heavyweight.

The image was printed onto a self patterned sheet of the DSP and cut to size. I've coloured with Inkadinks and a Sakura clear glitter pen, for the swirls above the flowers. Hard to see in this picture, however IRL it gives just a touch of sparkle to my card.

The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps 'Flowers With Love', stamped with SU Chocolate Chip ink. I've attached some ribbon and the bird image, from the same paper pad was cut with a Spellbinder die.

To complete the sketch I added the three chocolate pearls at the top plus the tiny pearls below the ribbon.

Annabelle Stamps .....Say It With Flowers

Happy Easter all!

I'm really excited today, my first post as a design team member for Annabelle Stamps!

Thank you so much Andrea, for inviting me to join you and the talented girls that make up

your design team. I'm all set and ready to go....... so lets get started.

The theme for this weeks card is, Say It With Flowers, which gives a hint to some of the new stock being added to the Annabelle range. Colour coordinated Petal Kits, with 36 flowers in three sizes. Gems and pearls, a mixture of sizes, plus 1 metre each of three ribbons. These kits are available in Browns, Pinks, and White.

For my card I wanted to feature items from the brown kit. We're moving into Autumn in Australia so I've gone with Autumn colours. I've used five of the flowers on my card, made up of small and medium . I had some fun colouring a couple using another of the new products to the store Copic Markers......ooh yum! A Swiss dots embossing folder was used to decorate another of the petals. For the flower centres I've used various gems (new), sprinkles and pearls from the Petals Kit.

My base card is pure white. The sentiment from 'Flowers With Love' was stamped in chocolate chip ink before embossing the line on either side with the help of my ScorPal.

Two small flowers from the same set were randomly stamped onto some American Crafts card from their Autumn range, using Versa Mark ink.

I crimped a piece of tan card and cut it to the barrow shape, inking the edges with chocolate chip. A brown button from my stash represents the wheel. I've arranged the flowers and gems attaching all with double sided tape. Before attaching to the base card I wrapped the brown polka dot ribbon around the base.
