Annabelle Stamps - ABSC020 - Congratulations!!!

Friday again........ and it's time for a sketch challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps. This weeks sketch, ABSC020 comes to us from Jerusha :

Thanks Jerusha, I had some fun with this one, here's my card: Congratulations!!

I was thinking a Wedding or an Anniversary Card, it's always a good idea to have one on hand!

I've used one of the little rose images from 'Flowers With Love'. This is such a versatile little set it's hard to go past it each week. I was going to use the Happy Anniversary sentiment from the same set but decided instead on this one from Swirl Tree, so I could use the card as I mentioned above.

My card uses SU Kraft, pure white card and the dp is from Christina Re. Some machine stitching has been added too before the dry embossed strip of rosebuds. The vertical strip of Kraft was punched with a Fiskar's Upper Crest punch and also embossed with Swiss dots. I've used a Spellbinder die to cut the first oval from the Kraft, lightly sponging the edge with VersaMagic cloud white chalk ink. Next a layer of pure white which was also embossed with Swiss dots.

Now for the image, I stamped with VersaMark then embossed these roses with Annabelle embossing powder Opaque Vanilla. I was so impressed with how clean this turned out, the stems on these roses are very fine and close up they look great. More light sponging around the image then each of the ovals have been stacked using foam dots to raise them.

I've made two flower embellishments using Annabelle's Petals. White then a beige one then setting a little silver spacer with Some Annabelle Pearls......so pretty..... but you can never have enough pearls so I added one to each corner!

The sentiment was also embossed with the Opaque Vanilla and cut with a Spellbinder tag die. To complete the tag I threaded some narrow white satin ribbon and tied a tiny bow..........I have to get one of those bow ties....... it takes me an age to get a nice bow! The tag is attached to the card with some double sided tape.

Amber April Showers!

I hope you're all well........ I heard a rumour of more snow in the UK or was it really just Ash from the Volcano!!!!!!! I'm so glad you dropped by today I have this little card to show you called Amber April Showers.......well at the moment if Amber was in Sydney she'd need that umbrella to keep the sun off!!! It's been glorious weather here, hope it's the same in Victoria Ian and I are going down for a few days very early tomorrow morning!

I found this little digital image on the Internet yesterday from a site I hadn't seen before called Clipart and Scrap I bought three of these cuties but had to colour Amber so I'd have a quick card to post today.

Punched Retro flowers, Kaisercraft gems and some pretty ribbon and hey presto !!!!

Magical Monday - Happy Mother's Day

I received some great news this morning.......I've got a seat for the first Sydney Copic Certification Class yeah!!!! and Kerrie got one too. We're both very excited and really looking forward to 6th May...... I think you'll be hearing more about this don't you LOL.

Are you ready to play along with Nina and the TMITA/PCC design team this week?

Kim is hosting the challenge and she's asked us to use any of Nina's images to make a 4" card using 1 ribbon, a single type of embellishment, 1 sentiment and NO dp!!!!!

I decided to make another mini easel card using a Spellbinder Blossom die, which is just under four inches. The last time I posted one of these I had a few comments asking how I made it so I'll quickly explain that you fold some card to make it large enough to cut the shape you want. In my case I folded an 8" piece of card to 4" square. Sit the die so that at the top the dies cutting ridge sits just over the fold in the card. After you remove the card from your Cuttlebug or die cut machine you have the shape joined at the top. Open the card out so the join is in the middle and fold the top of the top shape in towards this join. This makes your easel now you just need to cut one more single shape to decorate for the front of your card. Easy peasy!!! Once it's decorated add some double sided tape to the folded down easel and attach the decorated card front, lining up the petals.

On my card I ran the base through the Cuttlebug with a Swiss dots embossing folder to add a little interest. My Computer generated sentiment is attached with a foam dot on the base with the check ribbon.

I've used Nina's image 'Teacup with Daisies' printed onto pure white card and coloured with Copic markers for my Mother's Day card. A Spellbinders circle die cut the image out.

Don't forget at this point when you attach the image to the blossom shape to line it up with the folded down easel. If in doubt add the shape front first then attached the coloured image!!

For the embellishments I've added 7 blue KaiserCraft gems 1 in each of the blossom scallops.

Sassy Cheryl # 6 - A Sassy Boy

Here's the card I made for the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week # 6 I think. We were asked to use a Sassy Boy in blue's and cream!

I picked this image which Cheryl calls 'Hear Nothing Boy' and coloured it with a mixture of Copic Markers and Prisma's with Gamsol.

My base card is Navy Blue and I've used a sheet of wrapping paper for the circle patterned paper. This sits on a mat of cream card. More cream card was punched and inked around with antique linen ink. Some leather lace was tied around the punched cream and this section was attached to the card with foam tape. My coloured image is also punched along one side and this sits on some thick blue mulberry paper. To complete the card I attached the petals at the bottom with a computer generated sentiment. Quite a simple card but I was pleased with it finished, I think it's fine for a boy and plan to send it back to the UK for my Nephew who has a Birthday early next month.

Annabelle Stamps.......Say It in...Pink and Brown

Welcome to this Friday post for Annabelle Stamps. Andrea has challenged us to ....Say it in......Pink and Brown, which is probably one of my favourite colour combinations.

I've used a sketch from 2 sketches 4 you sketch 50 this week and I've kept it really simple.

My base card is Chocolate brown from American Crafts Autumn colours. To this I added my pink white dotted dp, which is Grant Archival double sided. Some double faced satin ribbon and three gems from the new brown petals kits came next.

I've used one of the images from Flowers For You for my focal point. The vase was stamped to a scrap of Bitter Sweet dp and cut out. The flowers are stamped in SU chocolate chip onto pure white card that has been cut and embossed with a Spellbinder Labels die. Copic markers were used to colour this little spray of flowers and the centres were set with three tiny blossom gems, from the pink petals kit. I've used a sentiment from the same set stamped directly onto the dp to complete my card.

I wanted a small token for a neighbour so added this little purse size note book. The back is in the same chocolate brown card which comes over to the front of the notebook. The front edge punched with a SU lace punch, some pale pink ribbon tied in a bow across the centre.

I've used the same vase of flowers onto more of the dotted pink dp to complete the front of this little note book.

A Little Birdie Told me........

I've been busy busy clearing and cleaning through my 'sewing/craft' room!! I've gone through my fabric stash and got that down to four big plastic tubs and two small ones, which is pretty good! Sorted through all kinds of paper too......who needs to keep all this stuff when you have a good Internet connection. My magazines should be next but I just can't bring myself to thin them out.....yet!

The boss is all for re-organising the layout down here too, so new cupboards and book shelves might just be the order of the day ....... I better get it right!

I did make a card last night to post today. I've used a Whiff of Joy stamp from the Birdie Love collection so this card is going into this weeks challenge #75 at the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. The challenge is to use yellow, green and one other colour.

I've used a layout from CPS so this will also go into their challenge #162 .

American Craft card has been used as well as dp from Kaisercraft's Lilac Avenue Collection. A Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Birds and Swirls' was used for the yellow mat and all card edges were sponged with distress ink antique linen.

The image has been stamped onto PL card in pure white with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Copic Markers. A Sakura clear glitter pen was used to add some sparkle to the flowers in her hair. To complete the sketch I added the three amethyst gem brads from Kaisercraft.

Sorry no card today, the last couple of days I've been going through the 'STUFF' in my room trying to sort out and de clutter!!! I'm lucky enough to have a room to call my sewing/craft room and it's a good size but I've just been adding stuff and now it needs sorting out.

I started with some shelves yesterday and they look a little better now I think. Today I went through all my fabric boxes and sorted them. I'm pleased to report that I've managed so far, to clear 2 big plastic boxes......yeah. My book shelf full of magazines should be next but I'm not sure I can part with any of them!!!

Anyway pictures as proof before and after

Well No 1 is part way through the clearing of shelves!

And then tidy......even a little space.

The dreadful Fabric boxes, sewing machines quilt racks etc.

This is 100 times better, even space in the far corner now. Thankfully the curtain hides all this anyway!!

I'm being very careful not to show you the top end of the room......I've got piles of fabric a couple of baskets etc all ready to go out. It's not perfect but it's a start!
