Hello,

I'm feeling more human again! After all the hot weather we've had, we had a huge storm last night with thunder and lightening and best of all RAIN!  It was so good, I stood out in the rain for a few minutes.....didn't quite dance around but I promise you it was so refreshing!  Much cooler here today with a little more rain early on. The birdbath is full again and the garden appreciated the soaking......so much better that the hosepipe :)

Anyway, I have a CAS card to share today for this week's Less Is More challenge.

SPORT or EXERCISE.....

is the theme this week.  I've used a cling rubber stamp from I Brake For Stamps for my card.  It's a bit saucy so wouldn't be to everyone's taste......I think it's fun though.

Good Morning, how goes your week end? I'm not going to talk about the weather except to say the thunder rolled around yesterday afternoon, but no rain to speak of........painful!

This week's sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch is an interesting one, are you playing along? 

I'm a  fan of Uniko Studio Stamps, an  English stamp company and thought I'd use one of the first sets to be released by Beverley the owner/designer.

Today Tomorrow & Always TIME

I've sponged some card using VersaColor Topaz, Turquoise and Lilac ink before stamping the image in VersaFine Onyx Black.  Trimmed to size and adhered to my white card base.  The sentiment (from the same set) is stamped below, with the word TIME inked a second time in Lilac and popped up on foam dots.

Meet my new best friend........My fan and I go everywhere  together at the moment :)  Ian says it could double as a fly swat or a table tennis bat LOL

It's so hot here today, we're waiting for a southerly change to come through with maybe some rain......which would be NICE!!!

Thought today I'd share what's happening at the blue house!

My little craft room is getting a make-over.

We have a large space behind the garage that houses my space and what the Real Estate people called a granny flat.  Walshie and I moved all my stuff into the  granny flat so we had room to paint. I look sort of settled don't I.

I've taken up the length of one wall with Ian using another for his desk and a book shelf. (Couldn't possibly share that picture with you, he's a messy worker!!!).
 The second TV is also in this area along with misc. furniture.... that may or may not stay, depending on what we do with the flat! I'm not sharing the plastic tubs full of fabric or the boxes full of books and magazines either..........perhaps I should be moving into the granny flat ....lol.

So the painting begins, very slowly in this heat.......Hope it's nice and cool where you are.

I think I hear the rumble of thunder.....oh goodie!

I've combined a couple of challenges for my card this week.  Retro sketches #45 along with

 The Outlawz  CAS "Spread the NEWs Challenge"

AnnaBelle Stamps Garden Silhouettes and Background By Design # 7 feature on my card this week.
I masked/embossed using the Cuts By Design 002 Shapes 1. Then stamped the BBD grid in S U pumpkin  pie ink, then over stamped the silhouette flower in always artichoke.

NEW satin ribbon from the Pineapple collection from ABS features too (Due for release soon). Finished off with a Pumpkin button threaded with orange fine twine.

I used a cling rubber stamp from Stampendous, called Botanical Daffodil for today's Birthday card.
The Birthday sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines, and was stamped using VersaFine onyx black ink.

The image was stamped to X-Press It blending card and coloured with Prisma Pencils, though I used an atyou Spica clear pen to 'go over' the pretty swirl. The bling is provided by the olive green pearls from Flourish with a Bling.

This tiny polka dot DP is from Simple Stories SN@P! colour vibe. Cut at 1" with one corner rounded.
 Foam squares pop the image up and the smooth white card forming the first layer which also has opposite corners rounded. This layer is adhered to the 4.25" x 5.5" base card that was trimmed from more smooth white card.

Summer in Australia........

Hi Bloggers,

Another very warm and windy day here, with total fire bans in place!  The beach was the place to be, for those of us lucky  to be away from the terrible fires that are becoming a regular summer event  in Australia.  Spare a thought for  those affected and the fire crews working to contain the fires.

After a  break of a couple of weeks, it's good to be back in front of the computer and with my crafting stash.  Walshie and I spent Christmas south east of Melbourne, which was lovely. We caught up with friends on the drive down and when we stopped in Sydney on the way home.

Hope like me you enjoyed the festive season and are now looking forward to some new crafting fun for 2013.

I'll be back on Friday with a card for the NEW challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps.

I hope to add a few of my sewing projects this year and thought I'd start today:)

This is my queen size quilt that finally had some machine quilting added towards the end of the year . Not the best picture....sorry!

It was a very simple patchwork really, made up of two blocks, one made up  of 6 x 2" strips the second a solid block.  If you click on this photo you can see I had an edge to edge quilting pattern machine stitched over most of the Quilt.  Not quite all though, as this quilt has a border of Prairie Points on all four sides.  For those non quilters.......that's a series of squares, folded to make triangles.

Now this is a work in progress.......

The picture shows some of the Nine-Patch and Snowball blocks I've pieced from left over fabric strips and a plain cream on cream patterned fabric.  I'm hoping I'll have enough 6 inch squares to make a small  or  lap quilt.  As you can tell, I lean towards soft colours in fabrics. Both of these are a bit Shabby Chic!  Maybe this year I'll be bold and try something more striking:)

Quilts take a bit more time than cards to complete so you won't be seeing too many.........don't worry!
