Let Your Dreams Take Flight.

Hello,

Today's card is for our Roses Challenge this month which was picked by 'The Other Patti Sue'.... She wanted us to  make Monochromatic Cards.

I've used this weeks Less Is More Challenge # 4 which is to 'Take  Three Squares' to form the layout for my card.  I wanted it to be a little different from just three squares across the card ...... so hope it still fits!

My card measures five inches square my first square has been masked, sponged with  Memento Desert Sand and stamped using SU En Francais and Close to Cocoa ink.  Spellbinder Fleur De Lis dies cut two size pendants the largest of which represents my second square. I've added an image from Kaisercrafts Up,Up And Away 6 x 6 paper collection for the centre image and popped it up on foam dots. The third square and smaller pendant holds my computer generated sentiment, this is also popped up.

I couldn't resist a length of double faced satin ribbon finished with a small bow to complete the card.

If you'd like to check the other members of our Rose bouquet .....the link is in the left hand side bar.  Thanks for stopping by today.......I'll see you soon,

Photobucket

Edit:

I did make this card for the LIM challenge taking my lead from other entries......however it seems it's too fancy, which is fine....I've removed it.

OK so here's another card and hopefully this one is more appropriate......very CAS.....same but different, what do you think?  Three squares, not quite straight across the page so I got my slightly different!

No ribbon and the smallest AnnaBelle Gems!  Two of my squares have been masked and sponged. The top one stamped as before, the bottom one with the computer sentiment. The centre square popped up on foam tape.

Happy Sunday......

Hi Sue,
This is really pretty and a super take on three squares, however it is a little more layered and fancy than than most cards in the Clean and Simple genre.
We have reference to our perception of a CAS card in the Guidelines on our blog.
It's great to see you back in our challenge and we hope to see you again next time!

LIM Mark ii is great, decidedly Clean and Simple and perfect for our challenge.
I love your first card, but the second is more in keeping with our guidelines. Thank you so much for making a special second submission!
We really appreciate it!

I love them both! Great colours. The first one is beautiful - even if it's not quite clean & simple enough for the challenge, it's a super card!

Love the 'oldie worldie' sepia tones.

Both fabulous cards - good to see how the same concept can be "dressed up" or "toned down"

Both designs are outstanding, and so "uplifting" (giggle). Elegant designs with gorgeous details make each one a thing of beauty! Awesome job.

Two great cards, very different from each other considering you've used the same stamp set. Love how you've sponged the squares on the CAS card. Sue.x

I love both of them, Sue and although the first one didn't quite fit into their rules, I think it is gorgeous. You made a wonderful comeback with the second one and I really like your masking...such a creative way to get your squares in. This is a lovely monochromatic color combo for the roses, so elegant. TFS both of them and for the inspiration.

Both are Beautiful Sue.. Love the text BG and such soft colors.Great sentiment :)

Great colour pallette on these and although they're both lovely I prefer the second one - leaves the emphasis much more on the image. I think maybe the scale of the fleur de lys on the die cut is just a bit overpowering for the delicacy of the balloon?

great cards - i love them both. i looked first, before reading, and thought, well that's a beautiful card, but is it really clean and simple? then i read your comments and saw the second card, which is also beautiful! appreciate your leaving up both cards with comments, especially since they are both lovely, but also because it helps those of us who are still learning about different styles.

The same colours, the same basic idea, but fewer layers - and it's stunning!! I like both cards very much, but I love the second version. Great to be able to compare the two - lots for me to learn here - thanks for sharing!

2 really gorgeous cards. The first one is a little too intricate to be a CAS card, but is stunning none the less.
The second one fits the brief perfectly. I love the sepia type colours. Really beautiful.
Thanks for your lovely comment and the link for colouring with Copics. I will check that out.

Two amazing cards! First one is beautiful, second one is stunning in it's simplicity with it's clean lines and assymetric design. You have shown that stamps can be versatile and have achieved two completely different results. Love them both and adore the colours you've used!
